Re: 14.3 vs 14.12 8 tailfeather question

The way to distinguish 8TFs, is to start with the reverse, left tail feather added. The 14.12 has the A1C reverse. Nothing at all like the 14.3. Second, look at the "Blob" above on the reverse, only on the A1Cs.

Re: 8 TF Attribution help wanted

Here's some more pics. I think it's the 1l reverse, by the lines in N and tailfeather added left wing. The 14.20, is by process of elimination, since not 14.2 (long ear fill). The strong Boll lines are not all there, but some of them are. It doesn't look like the 14.15 either. Thanks again for the h...

8 TF Attribution help wanted

Please take a look. I think it might be a 14.20. I ruled out the 14.2 by the length of the ear fill. The 14.15 is possible, but the secondary pick up points, make me lean the other way. Thanks for your help. JDL_1878_V_14_20_3.jpg JDL_1878_V_14_20_2.jpg JDL_1878_V_14_20_4.jpg JDL_1878_V_14_20_5.jpg

Great letter providing the historical provenance of the Vam 131 proof. The coin is obviously awesome too.
Thanks for sharing.

I too sent in 5 coins. Good news is that all 5 graded- 40,63,64,62, and 40. Bad news is I went 0-5 on Vam IDing. That is a first. LOL

Great job and most deserved. The 1921 set has scared Vam attributions people away for years. You should get an award just for having to stare at scribbling scratches.

Re: Big VAM Dinner turnout tonight

Great picture. I am sure that as the beer and drinks were consumed the Vam stories began to pile on. The
Loud raucous of good Italian food never hurts either. Great way to meet old friends and new collectors.

Thanks for your input. I was rather skeptical going in on this discussion, and yes there is quite a wide spread of opinions of the so called value on Flee bay. Let the buyer beware. As I wrote initially, it can’t be too rare since it was in my breakfast change. Thanks everyone.

Re: pocket change coin question

I agree that maybe we should move discussion to the Buy, Sell area , or What’s it worth. I would like to hear from J.R. , if he knows anything about the scarcity of the George Drool variety.

pocket change coin question

This coin is definitely out of my comfort zone. I looked this morning at my change from Star Bucks, only to discover that my Washington Quarter, was looking at me to the right instead of the normal left profile. I Googled the 2022 Washington quarter, only to realize that the mint made the obverse ch...

Re: OT Capped Bust Half Grading question

Thanks for your comments. The coin is XF-45 and rotated CCW 40 degrees. There is good luster on the reverse and some on the obverse. Interesting thing about the Capped Bust halves, is the frequent full 1 grade difference between the two sides.
