Re: O/T Taxman
This is all the result of the Wayfair vs South Dakota decision in 2018. Wayfair sued to prevent sales tax collection in states where they had no physical presence under 1967’s Bellas Hess and 1992 Quill cases, where the Supreme Court had already held that states could not require an out-of-state cat...

Congratulations John! Its a tough goal as many will attest.
My standard top 100 set is named "hopeless endeavor" as it always seems to be that way for me.

Re: 1900 O VAM help
It's a VAM 21 family coin, no doubt. May be a little early for a 21D1. Checkout VAM 21E and see if the denticle impressions are still there under the Eagle's tail feathers. I can't tell exactly from your photo, but it's likely.

1896 O VAM-28B die rotation
I have been looking for this VAM for a while and I just picked up a nice 1896 O VAM-28B, one of the last coins cataloged by Leroy Van Allen and discovered in 2021 by LateDateMorganGuy . It was a dual discovery, the 28A and 28B and also garnered a revision of the VAM-28. It is in a nice grade of 58 i...

Re: Help with 1900-O
This is the VAM-35A. It has single and double clashing varieties. As the die aged, more and more die cracking appeared, but that does not change the designation. It was at one time designated as both the VAM-14A and VAM-41A, but that was finally resolved and eliminated. They are fairly common and av...

Any word on VAM updates?
It's been a couple of years now since the last VAM update catalog was issued. I realize the reasons why. Any idea on when an update that will catch us up to the present will become available? I know people attempt to update VAMWorld and the registry on a case by case basis which is a good thing, but...

Fishing in the Bay
Sometimes, when fishing in Ebay with murky photos, you have to take a chance based on the best information you can find. Thanks VAMWorld, for providing the information. Now, what could an 1896-O in an old PCI holder called a repunched date actually be? I have been looking for an 1896-O VAM-12 for so...

Re: Need help with a 1900-O, please.
The mintmark seems to have taken a hit that flattened it upwards and to the left at some point, along with a lot of circulation wear. Very difficult to attribute VAMs in worn coins like these because so much detail is missing. Unless you can see die gouges or crack patterns that lead you in a certai...

Re: price list
Morgan dollars are all worth $1 as stated on the coin. Ditto for peace dollars.
If you melt them, they are worth $17.42 in silver.
Anything else is a premium decided by the buyer and seller based on stories told about them.

Re: Need some help with a 1900 O
Look at VAM-38 and VAM 2. It all depends on how slanted the date actually is and is a judgement call. Your coin does have the open 9. I submitted a VAM-2C to Leroy 12 years ago with the argument that it was actually a slanted date. He agreed and updated the listing, but declined to change the VAM de...

Yes, it started last night, but seems intermittent and something to do with accessing the database. Several different error messages have been seen. I was uploading some photos and editing some pages which weren't displaying or saving correctly. So I had to stop.

Re: 1900-O Trouble matching a privately made
Be aware that Leroy doesn't list every die detail that you can see on a coin. When it is too minor to list, he doesn't. But you can make your own notes about die pickup points to help you in attributing other coins in the future and compare them. Lots of VAMmers do that and it is certainly open for ...
