Just so Kurt will know, I did receive his PM and I replied to it. Kurt, see if it worked OK.
One thing I have seen is that the PM recipient must open the PM in order for it to move from your outbox to the sent folder. I think that's a feature in the software so you'll know if the PM was read or not.

Be aware, there are three separate logons required when using this wiki entirely. 1) VAMworld discussion forums. That is what you are reading now. Logon required to post and send PMs. Since you are posting you are logged on. I can't imaging why PMs aren't working for you. They work for me. Clear you...

Re: 1900-O help, please.
The coin looks genuine to me. Check VAM 2C for a diagonal gouge line inside the R loop in Pluribus. The 2C is actually a slanted date but Leroy decided to keep the 2C designation when he revised it. The 2C also has a die break in AM in America. Hard to tell from your photo if its the same.

Re: 1879 O Doubled Die Obverse and Reverse
Thanks Deborah, for your persistence in getting your coin attributed correctly. Yes, please upload your letter from Leroy Van Allen here and I will link it and this thread to the VAM 31 1879-O page. I will also post your pictures to the page. This site is a wiki collaboration after all and more info...

Re: Need some help with 1900 O Near Slanted Date
I think you do have a VAM 53. The date position and open 9 match. If the mintmark hadn't taken a hit between 8 and 12 oclock, it would be a match too. I don't think you have a VAM 47 as I cannot see the same wing-neck polishing lines on your coin. The area behind the arrow feathers is not listed as ...

Grade this. Top 100 Details?

I know I know, it's a travesty but instead of crying when I saw what it really was, I burst out laughing and hit the buy it now button. Pretty sure its unique.

I was hoping you were going to get that listing. And you did. Way to go Kenny.

Re: who am I?(I got nothin')
I've never seen a die break above the serif in 'N' like that on any 1900 O coin, and I've looked at thousands of them. To paraphrase a formerly popular saying, "If the stick don't hit you have to submit". Not convinced a coin in that condition will get a listing, but you will never find out if you d...

Re: who am I?(I got nothin')
This could also be a near date high 'O' coin as well. Hard to tell from the fuzzy reverse photo, but I think the die cracks that I can see in UNITED will be the key to solving this VAM.

Re: 1900-0 Near Slanted Date With Wing Gouges
I see a die gouge inside the bow, so I'd try VAM-36. It's a near slanted date with a high 'O' tilted right, which the pictures of your coin seem to be.

1900-O VAM 23F Discovery Coin
I have been looking for an example of the 1900-O VAM 23F coin since 2013 when it was first listed. I finally found one on EBay and it was the discovery coin itself! No mistaking that for something else. It was a bit more expensive than I would have liked, but the example was an MS64 proof like. Sinc...

Re: Question for the experts - 1900-O VAM-24,25,26 O/O
Here are the date and mintmark photos of my coin. As you can see, the mintmark is doubled inside to the left. My coin is also clashed but I can see no letter transfer anywhere.

Re: Question for the experts - 1900-O VAM-24,25,26 O/O
After checking my Big Book and looking at the VAM-37 photo, I'll have to retract that suggestion. The doubling on the VAM-37 goes the other way from your photo.

Re: Question for the experts - 1900-O VAM-24,25,26 O/O
Dont forget, 1900-O VAM 37 which was an O/O listing was eliminated years ago after it was determined to be strike doubling, so this may be the coin you have.

Re: 1900 O/CC
The VAM-21 series has a lot of action in it. It has clashes, denticle impressions. die cracking, gouges, multiple die pairings, wrong photographs posted and other mis-attributions. The date positions and mintmark positions move liberally among the series letter designations. Tracking the die cracks ...

Re: Question for the experts - 1900-O VAM-24,25,26 O/O
In the SSDC registry, there are two VAM-24 listed. One of them is mine. It took ten years to find that one. There is one VAM-25 listed that is not mine and no VAM 26 listed. I look long and hard for examples and find none. But that does not mean they don't exist. Good luck in your quest.

Re: Another 1900-O duplicate (imo)
Thanks, I chose the 1900-O series to work on because my uncle gave me a 1900 O/CC dollar when I was 8 years old and I still have it. But the series is far from complete. There are other duplicate listings. I was able to unwind the VAM 14 VAM 14A VAM 35 VAM 35A VAM 41 VAM 41A mixups a few years ago a...
