Mine seems to have more displacement at the A M break. Would it make sense for you to have the various coins in hand? I am happy to send mine if it helps.

I got Defender. Much of the analysis seemed on point, but I wonder how much my answers would change based on my mood at the time.

1921 D VAM 1L[?] Is it 2, 3 or a new 4?
Picked up a 21-D that is part of the VAM 1L family. There are no pictures on the 1L3 page, so I am at a bit of a loss. Here's the full coin pics: 20220503_124605.jpg 20220503_124631.jpg The scribbles area is devoid of all detail and the right wing is overpolished, removing feather details. 20220503_...

Re: 1878 P 7/8 Tail Feathers Question
I should not have doubted Mike! Thank you, JR. I couldn't make out the finer PUPs due to the poor condition, but I learned long ago that if JR or JB says it is, it is. Thank you, again, to @hairfield1, @morganman and @vampicker for your help!

Re: 1878 P 7/8 Tail Feathers Question
Thanks. I did look at those, but neither one is a match. Can't use the finer die markers as this coin is pretty rough, but the bigger ones don't match.

1878 P 7/8 Tail Feathers Question
Picked up one of the ugliest 7/8 TFs you'd ever want to see. Cleaned, black gunk, corrosion. Definitely not pretty. But, I grabbed it at a fairly cheap price because it was one I didn't have. Problem is, now that it is in hand, ai can't figure it out. Could be due to.the cleaning or wear, but I can'...

1900 P Far Date?
Picked up a 1900 P Morgan from a Facebook group and can't match it up. The 1 is over the 4th denticle and it's a slanted date. C3 reverse. Slightly rotated reverse. Appears to the some slight doubling of the motto. Might be a VAM 15, but many of the 1900 P listings on the Morgans by Date page are mi...

1926 S "Extra Olive"
I've not seen anything like this previously. It is a clashed 26-S. The neck spikes are heavily poslished (lots of file lines), but that's not the the interesting part. At the crag, by the olive branch, there is what can best be described as an extra olive. Can't find it in the listings, but maybe I ...

Re: How Long Have You Collected our Beloved Morgan Dollars ???
I've been collecting Morgans for about 40 years. Peace Dollars started around 1990-95, when I bought a complete set in a Dansco Album for $295 from Mount Vernon Coins. I had a small collection when I was a kid. It was mostly wheaties, Bicentennial coins, some Ike’s and Kennedy halves (all pulled fro...

No 2022 Morgan or Peace Dollars
Mint just issued a release that due to planchet shortages, there will be no 2022 Morgans or Peace Dollars, but the program will return in 2023.

Re: Also have a 1901-O that's giving me fits
Still trying to figure this one out. I'm leaning towards an unlisted contemporary counterfeit. The reason being, I had it tested at a jeweler today. Weight was 26.6 and composition is 92% silver which is which is Sterling, not coin silver. Going to have to send this in to John for his thoughts. I wi...

No, Ray's the first name. Bob is short for my last. Raybob was a nickname given to me by a co-worker back in 1992, and I've been using it as a screen name since.impairedsquirrel wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 6:11 amNot 100% certain Patrick, but I think he's more "Bob" than he is "Ray"?
