Re: 1923-S Help Needed Update Possibly 1E1 or 1E2

Can someone please add the above pictures to the 23S VAM1E2 page? We have no pictures of the clash or the obverse file lines on the page and I am unable to do it. Thanks.

Re: 1923-S VAM 1E1 and 1E2

Thanks for posting these. The file lines at the R on my coin are easily visible without magnification, so your coin clearly shows that the file lines come later. My coin shows a triple spike; I wonder if that clash that caused the left spike to be doubled is what necessitated the file work on the ob...

1923-S VAM 1E1 and 1E2

Does anyone have any examples of 23S 1E1 and 1E2? I suspect that the file lines listed in 1E2 are present in the 1E1. There are no photos on the 23S 1E2 page to compare. If you have either, could you please post pictures of the shoulder spikes, UNITED and the area of R, T and the hair bun? Thanks.

OK, there is a crack, but it is apparently a very early state... very thin line, but it's there.

It ould seem that the Obverse file lines would have been present in the 1E. I may send this in just for the revision/clean up of 1E.

Re: 1923-S Help Needed Update Possibly 1E1 or 1E2

It does not have the reverse break, but E1 doesn’t have the obverse file lines. Maybe it needs to go to LVA to revise E1 to include the scratches? That further out spike is also doubled...

If this is 1E2 (or 1), then we can add these pictures to the pages. Hopefully someone has an example of each to confirm.

Re: 1923-S Help Needed

Had you checked out listings for 1E1 and 1E2 - wide clash (1E1)and diagonal lines by RT (1E2) Also possible thin die break listed on 1E2? Thanks! 1E1 looks like it might be a match for the spikes. Unfortunately, the 1E2 page doesn’t have pics of the file lines. My coin does not have the die break o...

Re: VAM Weed Killer. To encourage new collectors to grow...

I stumbled across VAMWorld 1.0 in 2006. I had an incomplete date/mm set of Morgans and a complete Peace date/mm set. I was looking for information on the 1882 O/S and the 1900 O/CC. I found it interesting and decided to attribute my sets. It took a while. But what I discovered was a new way to conti...

1923-S Help Needed Update Possibly 1E1 or 1E2

Update: May be a 1E1 or 1E2. Does anyone have a 1E1 or 1E2 to compare? Been away for a while... periodically, I pick up something that looks interesting and this is one of those coins. Not sure if it's already listed, or if it is even worth sending to LVA. Has what I saw as a double shoulder spike,...

Re: Are Morgan 1921-P VAM-65 and VAM-87...

Take a look at VAM 85 as well. It is another of my discoveries. The scribbles look very similar as well. May be another candidate for a kill. These are all very similar, but have some differences. The 85 has doubling at the bottom of AMERICA, where the 87 does not. The 85 shows some beveling over th...

Re: Are Morgan 1921-P VAM-65 and VAM-87...

I can't see the scribbles on my DC for the 87. It is graded MS64 by ANACS, so we at least have a good example to work with. The 87 DC does not show any beveling at OF. Any word from @fogie or Crae yet as to whether they have the VAM 65 DC?

Logan sold the VAM 65 Discovery Piece to either Crae or Brent a few years ago. Hopefully, they are still around and have it.

VAM 87 is my discovery and I have the Discovery Piece. If anyone has the VAM 65 discovery piece, we can ship them to John and he can do a proper comparison. Logan McKechnie discovered the 65. I sent him a message to see if he still has it and can send it to Messydesk (and I will send the 87) for com...

Sorry, can't believe 'Raybob15239' is using a capped 'R' like mine. Just comparing. Congrats on your 'WOW's'.
Just saw this, Prider. I have used the capped R since I first joined VAMWorld 1.0 in 2006! I even use it on eBay as well. The 1B is one of my favorite 21D VAMs.

VAM 1AH is a die state of VAM 6. Look for slight doubling on leaf #6 & on upper rays.
I will take a look. If it is clear, I will send it to LVA with my next submission for elimination along with the 23P 11B. Thanks.
