Re: OT Capped Bust Half Grading question

Dennis Interesting response, which is why I posted this. I will hold off till we have more people chime in. BTW, this is a 210 year old coin created on a screw press. Metal flows are quite common on these too. This will be a fun one for me (still learning all the time I hope) to find out the actual...

Re: OT Capped Bust Half Grading question

My first reaction (although I've never owned a Bust half) was XF40. But flat spots on the hair detail made me decide to go with VF35.

Are you trying to post RAW files by any chance? (that's what I deduce from the .jpeg extension, rather than .jpg

Thanks John @iceman
That isn't a bad looking coin at all.

Re: 1921-D VAM 5C question

I could possibly be convinced to split it into 5C1 (Scribbles only) and 5C2 (Scribbles + break) since they're easily distinguishable and you woul...

are eBay buyers clueless?

I ask this question just about every morning as I transfer the previous day's VAM sales information to my database, because there is often obvious evidence about the answer. I'm talking about sales that happen on the same day for the same date, same VAM, same grade, and same TPG whose prices are oft...

Re: OT; Thanksgiving Break

I did some research in the Heritage archives: BB-168 (R4). Finest known examples are two AU50s. Here's the writeup from a 2005 Heritage auction for a PCGS-25 example, when the rating was R5: "This is a rare die variety and is in demand by specialists both for its rarity and for the horizontal die br...
