Re: Plan for Silver dollar vault, Philadelphia

It's interesting that the last 3 rows (17-18-19) held progressively fewer coins than the identical number in rows 1-17.

Thank you for your reply! Once I get this done who would I email them to?

Thank You,

@fogie (Brent) would be my recommendation. Heck, he's always my recommendation.

Re: New Vam Help

Welcome Carnell. LVA played no role in getting new discoveries posted onto VAMworld. Unless the discoverer passed along a copy of the official description letter and plate images to someone here to transcribe, there was no way for the information to get out. A high quality copy of the plate images i...

Re: 1901-O vam 40a rarity

I have only one sales record in my database for 40A. As Fogie has explained, few folks caring about 1901-Os in general could explain some/most/all of that.

Thanks for sharing Dennis. I put it in the Broken Branch Mintmark Set. I have not run across that one yet. If we can get your pic on the its page, that would be great.
@fogie Might do that... if we are nice to him. :D

Very unusual 1921-D crack

I know this title sounds like an oxymoron, considering how very common cracks are on 1921-Ds. But this one (VAM 1EW1) caught me off guard, because it's the only one I can recall seeing that goes through the mintmark: 1921-D 48422273 mintmark 1.jpg And it doesn't stop there; it goes well into the low...

Re: VALUE 1921-S

In a rare occurrence, I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with Dennis here... As long as the clashed I is present, these carry a nice premium. I sold my MS64 to a VERY knowledgeable collector for 3x common, because he told me he'd be willing to pay 4x common... I gladly defer to Mr. Squirrel on...

Is the base of the 1 doubled on the top left? John, what you ask about looks like a small nick, plus perhaps a curving part of the crack: date first 1.jpg fogie has a bunch of different '86-O VAMs in AU or better and promises to see if he can find a match to the UTF lines when he gets back home. I'm going to estimate very little to no premium.
Except for 6A, 6B and the Thornheads there doesn't seem to be collector demand for 1921-S.

No expert here , but I would like to see the LFCP both sides I only found a 2 point match out of 100 on your scribbles ... not enough pictures in the wiki to be finding this one without more ...I'll guess v27 but I know it is probably wrong  Check the Heritage archives. any 1886-O experts?

Rather than bore everyone with date and mint mark placement photos, or numerous crack shots, I'll get right to the "wow, that's interesting!" feature of this unknown coin. Can anyone help (Hint: @vampicker and @messydesk ? – because I'm clueless about this date.

Re: Site maintenance

It was always my understanding that the only way LVA plate images got posted to the attribution pages is if the discoverer posted them or sent copies to one of the supervisors at SSDC. That's why many coin pages don't have any plate images. And, unfortunately, sometimes only 1 or 2 plate images were...
