The term I first heard about 25 years ago was "orange peel". I was told it's fairly common on 1901-Ps and I've seen it many times since on that date.

That's the most legitimate candidate for being graded 0 as I've ever seen in any holder.

PCGS is nuts, and it wouldn't surprise me if they mistakenly thought 196/196A were 8TF varieties. My database has very few sales for either VAM, which I think is due to lack of market demand and collector interest more than anything else. I emailed Ian a few months back, giving him examples of coins currently in GC auctions that were attributed wrong by NGC and PCGS – and stressing that the consistent accuracy by VSS is better than both of those companies. I'm pleased that my nudge may have helped.
