Re: 1921-S: can anyone help?
Mitch says the gouge at star-U is the VAM 1G reverse (thank you Mitch!)... but the gouge at star-U is the only thing that fits with 1G – and none of the other PUPs on the 1G page are on my coin.

1921-S: can anyone help?
This coin was in a small group of D-mint coins I recently got, and I am profoundly clueless. Any VAM help would be greatly appreciated. -- There are no cracks anywhere. -- There are some decent scribbles. -- There are finger feed areas at TA and OF. -- Perhaps the biggest PUPs are lines from the den...

Re: Mystery Morgan 1921 P D2
Cracks going to both of the Us in PLURIBUS is strange. The best suggestions I can come up with are a late die state of:
3BX
3Q2
14A2
3BX
3Q2
14A2

Re: 1921 PCGS63 VAM 41b
It's important to keep in mind that, of the 450 different 1921-P VAMs that are currently known, 41B has the most examples registered at SSDC -- which by at least that measure makes it the most common 1921-P VAM. Having said that, prices for them can and do vary wildly . The price for generic 1921-Ps...

Re: 1882 GSA Carson city grand snake history.
Must be a term someone made up at the time to describe the off-centerness, but it never stuck. Such a coin showing up in a GSA holder would be significant even then, and much more so now. My WAG is $10K or more.

unlisted 1921-D?
I can't find anything in the scribbles or die crack break guides for this coin, even though it has very clear examples of both. Can anyone help? First is yet another long, bold crack from the denticles above F in OF that goes through the F and left wing and into the top of the right wreath (where it...

Re: Attribute This
Good to hear!
What's the chance that PCGS said it was a "mechanical error"? Since, of course, it never makes attribution mistakes.

It seems like the PCGS attribution Department couldn't correctly identify it's own a** even if it used a mirror and had an assistant to give it directions.

Re: 1891 o vAM 3a1 values AU-53 to AU-55
Jason: 3A1 and 3A2 have often been sold/attributed as just 3A, so it gets confusing. Prices have also changed a lot over the years. Here's what I have: 1891-O 3A 53 PCGS Dec-18 VQ $1,069 1891-O 3A 53 NGC Apr-15 H $353 1891-O 3A 50 PCGS Dec-09 store $2,000 1891-O 3A 50 NGC Aug-12 H $200 1891-O 3A 50 ...

Regardless of which LN VAM it is, that's a heck of a 'pick. Looks XF to me. Congrats!
