Such a long auction, and so many bargains.
I won five, including two that I never dreamed were possible.

Re: VALUE 1921-S

In a rare occurrence, I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with Dennis here... As long as the clashed I is present, these carry a nice premium. I sold my MS64 to a VERY knowledgeable collector for 3x common, because he told me he'd be willing to pay 4x common... I gladly defer to Mr. Squirrel on...

Re: any 1886-O experts?

Is the base of the 1 doubled on the top left? John, what you ask about looks like a small nick, plus perhaps a curving part of the crack: date first 1.jpg fogie has a bunch of different '86-O VAMs in AU or better and promises to see if he can find a match to the UTF lines when he gets back home. Bu...

Those tell me that I should check the date and mint mark first. ;)

Since I know you really want to see them...

Re: VALUE 1921-S

I'm going to estimate very little to no premium.
Except for 6A, 6B and the Thornheads there doesn't seem to be collector demand for 1921-S.

Re: any 1886-O experts?

No expert here , but I would like to see the LFCP both sides I only found a 2 point match out of 100 on your scribbles ... not enough pictures in the wiki to be finding this one without more ...I'll guess v27 but I know it is probably wrong  Check the Heritage archives. I just bought it a week...

any 1886-O experts?

Rather than bore everyone with date and mint mark placement photos, or numerous crack shots, I'll get right to the "wow, that's interesting!" feature of this unknown coin. Can anyone help (Hint: @vampicker and @messydesk ? – because I'm clueless about this date.

Re: Site maintenance

It was always my understanding that the only way LVA plate images got posted to the attribution pages is if the discoverer posted them or sent copies to one of the supervisors at SSDC. That's why many coin pages don't have any plate images. And, unfortunately, sometimes only 1 or 2 plate images were...

I agree with VAM 1AM.
Here's a shot from one of my coins. The OL gouge isn't easy to see, even when you know what you're looking for:

@vampicker Hey John, that may not be enough time for me to find the 74 1921-Ps and 74 1921-Ds I still need to finish those two sets.

Heck, December 1, 2030 probably won't be enough time either.

Re: Another 1921 Morgan Question (VAM-3CL)

Do the grading services usually annotate such things? Do they usually do anything other than keep us guessing? Strike-throughs run a very wide gamut of severity, ranging from "where is it?" to massively hideous. I personally regard them as a negative and I try to avoid them. ANACS seems to attribut...
