I would file that under "Questionable Authenticity."
You see it as bad rather than just a common 94o that has been evenly slicked from dryer/water erosion over time/acid/ etc JB?

My Big 2019 Cherry.... VAM 44 !!!

Hey guys, finally want to share my big Cherry for 2019 with y'all. And it comes with a huge story, I'll try to be brief... So, my partner Ed and I went to the ANA Chicago show then since Dalton show was the next week we decided to rent a car, drive to GA shop-hopping along the way then fly back home...

Ray, that's a SOLID 5. I've seen similar in 6 (low 6) and also in 4 (PQ 4) tho.. Just up to the day and who sees it etc.

If you've taken ANA grading courses, you'd absolutely love the Summer Seminar Morgan Dollar class as Messydesk mentioned. Highly recommend. A week-long experience like no other 😎

JB and I have a certain love affair with these. That's a cool one too! I think I have a Peace & Morgan one somewhere but this one is about as wild as they come. Haven't seen its equal on any series.. And I was given it by someone as payment that wanted me to just check a couple rolls for any better ...

Re: what caused this?

I'm curious why people haven't seemingly run across these "melted dates" before. I see them quite often, especially on the early S's with 82s being the most frequent if I had to guess. So it's not a manifestation of hub doubling?

If I had to guess, from just that one photo, using a Galaxy 4: It could be a jeweler with some fine silver soldering tools and skills. I have even made simular shapes in my soldering attempts on a circuit.
It's nothing like that. This is a somewhat common manifestation seen with regularity.

Re: Morgan Grading Question

If there isn't a bunch of small peppered chatter that is being light bleached and the fields + devices are that mark free, easy 6, probable 7 or even 7+.. Not 8 though, that mark below E•P alone would limit an 8 nomatter how pristine otherwise. That weakness, especially for an O mint, is a relative ...
