Re: 1886 VAM?

From what I can tell from these pics, it's similar to a VAM-14. Date doesn't look high enough to be a VAM-31.
Reverse attributes may point another direction since there are several Normal Center date VAMs.

Re: 1882-P VAM-1H??

Thanks Doug. @Albannach PM me to discuss if you have a RAW 1E2, no collar clash, you'd like to part with. Would like one to go along with the 1E1 I have.

Re: 1882-P VAM-1H??

Actually a later state likely, not earlier. Striking and wear are deteriorating the chip. I’m gonna leave it there for now. This marriage is something else before and something else after the chip… Stay on it Andy Your epiphany will come. Doug....At this point, I'm a bit lost as to the epiphany, bu...

1882-P VAM-1H??

Please follow the link below to some hi-res pics of subject coin. Need input as to if this coin could be classified as a VEDS of a VAM-1H. The D pitting is not as intense as shown on the VAM page, but there is a tiny bit. All the other markers are there. Thanks in advance....Andy http://www.vamworld...

Re: 1898 Vam 10 or 12?

These are 4 that I have that I called V12. First one is pretty beat up. All have the same polish lines below the cotton leaves, the crack at the right wing tip and the long scratch at the bottom serif of the LIBERTY "Y" as the discovery coin. I've never found a V10 that has the distinct strong doubl...

Re: 1898 Vam 10 or 12?

Curious, too, about the FCP on the VAM-12 page that states "Full Coin Copyrighted© VAM-12 Images on loan to VAMworld courtesy of Andrew Wojtowich. Attributed by VW Message Board." That coin wasn't attributed on this post, correct, as nothing has been verified by JB or JR yet? If it has on another p...

Re: 1898 Vam 10 or 12?

K so the v-10 does have the second 8 plated in the big book ... I don't have permission to post them, and not sure it will help or not . You will need someone else to weigh in here... You could be right , on the other hand it is possible v-10 has no polish lines ... deep end of the pool like I said...

Not VAM-13. The V13 date is only far, not very far, and the die chip is in the wrong place. A die study shows the UFO die pair shown above is unique.

VAM-13 shown below.
May I post these pics to the V13 page?

How would one search for these at the site? What's the string syntax? I've never used this resource before.
Thanks.

Re: What causes this feature?

The photos suggest a combination of hard planchet and unusually low pressure...but, full coin photos would be helpful. Links to LFCP's. Appreciate the info thus far.....Andy http://www.silverdye.us/wiki/pub/Main/AndyWoj00SB02/1899O_AW081523_1.JPG?t=1692455975 http://www.silverdye.us/wiki/pub/Main/A...

What causes this feature?

What causes this "flatness"? Is it die wear? Circulation wear? PMD? Other devices on the coin seem to have average circulation wear. Thanks....Andy

1899O VAM-2 and VAM-39

messydesk vampicker Good Day All, I just got in a coin that is a VAM-39 based on Mhomei's LFCP's that was there posted there. I have another V39 inbound. I posted my V39 LFCPs as well of the coin I have in-hand. IMHO, the V39 description and the plate photos are suspect even though it's an LVA list...

Re: 1899-O V25 and V25B

If that funky crack above the ES of STATES is there, it's a 25B, For the other stuff, it's still the same die even if the features blur. But, yeah, we could use an image of the earlier stage of VAM 25 for the page Thanks for the reply. So should those LFCP's at V25 page be removed? If anyone out th...
