Re: 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars
 It would be funny if the mint made deliberate die differences to make them vammable. Clashed dies, repunched date and mintmarks, polishing the die until hilariousness ensues, etc. This would be... AWESOME! What we NEED to do is grow VAMming to the point where the mint releases an 1889-P VAM-2...

Re: Took a stroll through the grove for old times sake...
Thanks Jon, good eyes!
That was a very interesting group. I wish I woulda got one of the later ones with only the partial filled "r", because the obverse break also seemed to advance quickly on those. Are either of yours that stage?

Took a stroll through the grove for old times sake...
Found me a few acorns along the way, so I took some crappy pics of a couple PUPs to post for y’all. Good on ya if you can figure these out!

More plus side, Moderna released data a couple hours ago showing their vax still has >90% efficacy 6 months after inoculation!
Also, "efficacy" is a new vocab word I've gained from this pandemic...

Re: Covid Shots
Ok, gotta start by saying this is a general observation and not aimed at ANYONE in particular (certainly not you Bob, I was more than happy knowing I was no where near the top of the vaccine list...), but this is another absolutely HILARIOUS piece of the "human condition"... 560,000 Americans have d...

Also let me add, for the "everything carries risks" crowd. I'm a construction worker, roofer to be precise, and my professional life is defined by safety requirements and regulations. Yet every MFing construction site I walk into I see maskless yahoos everywhere. They'll wear a hard hat for ten hour...

Nothing in this world causes so much LOLing AND SMDHing from me than our culture of "Well, that person who has been recognized as a world leader in their field for 50 years might say that, but my sister's friend's old college roommate's cousin's ex-boyfriend said in a Facebook post that they're full...

Re: New Member with a Possible New VAM - 1922-P Peace Dollar - Extra Olive Branch?
Definitely clashing. This is a very common clash on Peace dollars and also the one that gets more new Peace dollar members here than any other... this clash for Peace dollars and the "volcano" clash for Morgans. In short, it's not noteworthy, but you saw it so keep learning and looking! ;) I'm a Mor...

Re: OT: Upheaval in the card world
Bob, the graded market already tanked... BIGTIME... several years ago. This is the resurgence! Seriously, if you have any graded or nice rcs of any of the 80s-90s megastars it may be worth digging them out. Been selling crappy set rcs of guys like Rodgers, M. Trout and Steph Curry for $60, $80, $180...

Re: OT: Upheaval in the card world
Triggered also by a mega-boom in card values. 6ish years ago I started looking into cards again after a long break and, to my surprise, many of the top rookies from my youth (Griffey, Frank Thomas, Barry Sanders, etc.) were selling dirt cheap even in certified gem holders, so I started picking them ...

Re: An insane 1882-O Vam-17B wow vam.
If I were ranking all the VAMs in the WOW! set by rarity, the 17B would be the one I'd rate as most common. The VAMs in the set were included because they are REALLY cool, rarity and value really played an incredibly small part in that (honestly, rarity and value played a bigger part in one that WAS...

Re: Revisiting the "WHATS A 1881 O VAM 33B WORTH?" question (but as a die progression question)
Lee is correct and that discrepancy with the mint mark was the first thing that caused me to question if the "33a" was truly a 33a. This means he is also correct that the 50a is not related to the 33 die pair. Gary, does your coin have "cuddlings" (small rim cuds around the obverse)? If so, it is a ...

Wow Jon, short but sweet way to address the Bunny (he looks old and wrinkled) and the coin (nice clashing)!
