Re: Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Well I received my refund and left negative feedback. It does not show on the sellers feedback and it is not even on my left for others feedback. It seems eBay wants to turn a cheek to this sellers fraudulent listings. Pathetic!! Well, one thing is I know I will NEVER purchase from MorganDealer again.

Re: Odd rim on 1883-CC GSA Morgan
Actually, that's pretty typical for a Carson City strike. I recall Randy Campbell telling me he could usually tell what mint a Morgan was struck at without looking at the reverse based on the look of the obverse rim. He was usually right. Yeah, I started looking at a lot of '83-CC's on PCGS and it ...

Re: Odd rim on 1883-CC GSA Morgan
Here is a better edge shot that shows the notched/stair step look. This edge runs all the way around the coin with even margins.

Odd rim on 1883-CC GSA Morgan
Hey guys, I just picked up this 1883-CC GSA Morgan from a local shop today. It came with the original box, cert and outer mailing box. It's a stunning coin, one of the things that popped out at me as I was photographing it is the rim. It has a stair step edge going around the edge of the coin. I don...

Re: Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Just something to keep in mind. While you are standing on principle for this transaction, this won't change anything on Ebay. Although you will get some sort of personal satisfaction I guess. Ebay exists (as every company does) to make money. They make money on volume sellers. Ebay will NOT stand o...

It's gone back under SNAD. I will be leaving a scathing review once my refund has come through.

Re: Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Everyone has their approach. Whoever this seller is, there are others that do the same thing. Most folks (at least on this site) can tell when photos have been doctored. Apparently you recognized it. I usually ferret out my coin purchase decisions before going after a coin, knowing the photos have ...

Re: Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Return and bad review stating photos are clearly doctored . Though it is easy to see the pics are doctored . I agree that the images were doctored, every one of their auctions are exactly the same. I will leave Negative Feedback no matter what I do. But, is it a tough enough VAM that I should retur...

Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Hey guys, I just received an '89-O V-13B that I bought unattributed on the bay. It was from one of those well known "horrible" sellers. They edit the images to hide the problems. I'll include the sellers image and mine for comparison. It was sold raw as an AU/UNC, it's clearly AU. But it is harshly ...

1878-S Long Nock picked in the wild
I had a fun day yesterday visiting 2 shops I had never been to before. The first shop, is where I found this baby. I was looking at a tray of Morgans all in protective 2x2's. I started with the earliest dates, and so this one came up pretty quick. It was the 3rd coin I looked at. I didn't find much ...

Re: 1881 S 54b Wounded and cleaned eagle
Nice pick!! I've been looking for one of these for a long time. I have not had the luck nor the patients to keep looking at ALL the '81-S's on eBay. I'll just have to keep clicking. LOL

Re: 1888-S VAM-3a1 off eBay
Here's a close-up that shows why the clash looks so strong. The obverse has rather strong polishing lines going from 11:00-5:00. So does the reverse, but when they clash, they become oriented 1:00-7:00 on the obverse. Where the fields clashed, you can see the two sets of polishing lines criss-cross...

Re: 1888-S VAM-3a1 off eBay
Reminds me of the 23A. That was my initial thought as well. I've been hunting for an '89 23a as I am sure many here have as well. When I first saw the TV image, I got so excited! But the 23a is a much deeper clash compared to this one. This one is very delicate in that most of what is seen is the t...

For what it's worth, any images that I post that I photographed are more than welcome to be used in VW. The coins can be isolated from my background if you wish as well.

Been a LONG time, too long! Missed having your input. Welcome back!! The VAM rocks too...kenny For those of you that don't know Mr. Lee, he is one of the founders of VW 1.0 and a VAMmers VAMmer... Thank you all for the kind words and opinions! I've missed posting here in VW, but I didn't really pos...

Re: 1888-S VAM-3a1 off eBay
I have a 1878 S V49 with very similar die polishing. On the obverse only, and no clash marks. I will send mine to Messydesk for his opinion. Thanks for sharing your coin. BOOM! What a great find. The abrasive polishing seen from the San Fran mint most years looked liked an early version of "anger m...
