Re: VAM 1 can be fun AND evil

Thank you for this BTW ..... I don't know if I would call it evil . Confusing to some of us trying to understand how this all works , defiantly ... I have thrown my hands in the air a couple times and just put a note down to check the coin again. Its a process I guess. I can empathize with you, dea...

1879-S Date Numeral issue and much more

I just got a new handheld microscope to examine and photograph my coins, along with a used Cannon D60 from eBay to do macro photography. Wow - what an obsessive learning curve. I ran across this coin during a photo shoot. At first, the condition caught my eye - a possible DPML. While photographing i...

Re: Show off some of your best vams!!

As I liquidate most of my VAM collection, most likely the last two I will let go of is my MS-62 Scarface and the only known example of the only known CC Cud. 1892-CC VAM-2A ljs-1892CC-V-2A-Cud-01.jpg Wow, your Scarface and CC Cud are awesome. I especially like the Cud. Great fortune finding that in...

Yes I do. See post below.
Great photograph. Is the color natural? What camera, and lens, did you use for this shot? I can see that you are using a ring light.

Re: Interesting 1879-P

Thank you!!! I have about 45 minutes just trying to find that on http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... /wiki/Home. I wasn't using the correct, or succinct keywords evidently... :-)

Curious, What do you think it would be worth at AU58?

ThankS!

I really appreciate your help.

Where can I find info and photos on VAM 33 Die 2? I have an older copy of Cherry Pickers and won't be able to afford the latest until next month.

Re: Interesting 1879-P

Thanks. I know that the wavy lines are bag marks. I labeled them for reference. I guess that I just need to remove those labels as they only confuse the conversation. I do question the long surface abrasion. It appears to have some indication of a crack at the apex of the longer abrasion run, one of...

Re: Really Strange Luster

Interesting. Are you using an LED ling light? Try taking a photo under a table light. Do you see the same, or a similar reflection (luster) from the coin when it is rotated and tilted (angled) from the eye (or camera lens)? For photographing it. try tilting the stand or table with the camera station...

Re: TWO (2) RARITIES FOR SALE

I forget to remember my experiences here listing coins for sale has been very frustrating not to mention worthless, as many buyers just waste ones time here. IMHO- Only about 10% of potential buyers here are for real and not cheapscates. Screw it- the coins i just listed are no longer for sale- and...

Re: Interesting 1879-P

Characteristics of polishing differ from these. At first glance, I thought I saw clashing (between Epluribus and Unum, but upon closer examination I am seeing cracking. The stains may be a result of environmental exposure to the internal structure of the alloy. The thin lines that I am looking at ar...
