Re: Help with clashes

Select "Attribution 101" on home page of VAMWorld and look thru the entire paper. Pay close attention to section 3.3 on Die Clashes.

1884 1c Pics

I bought this 1884 because price was good and it had multiple noteworthy clashes going on. After working thru all the listed clashes I eliminated all but the 1c. The listing has only a couple pics of the clashed "n", and it notes no other photos are available from discovery coin. Little other inform...

Re: 1885 Double Top or RPD?

I think that's right. This coin matches up fairly well with the photos (including micro-gouges on reverse by eagle's legs), but the attached photos are inconsistent with the description in the listing. + "Date set in the middle of normal tolerance." should maybe say "Date set at right edge of normal...

1885 Double Top or RPD?

When does a doubled date become a RPD? This coin has clear doubling along the top of the 5. I recall giving up on a fit, and assigning it VAM 2. No premium regardless and I just let it go as close-enough. I have checked the page on 1885 doubled tops (and spot checked other possibilities) and have no...

1900 S VAM 30A back from LVA

Leroy returned my submittal discussed here back in early September, and assigned it 1900-S VAM 30A. Thanks to PacificWR for help and guidance in the process.
Attached are the letter and LVA plates of the coin, edited to delete unnecessary personal information. Also full coin pics date and cracks.

Re: 1900 S tripled S, Die Breaks Date

All of the last 5 were with Nikon Digital D7200 and macro lens, NEF format. I then transfer pics to computer and convert to reasonable sized jpg image with photoshop to send.

Re: 1900 S tripled S, Die Breaks Date

No I have not. I've had a couple I thought could be submittals, but I when I ran them by this board, only one was suggested as worthwhile, and I never did send it.

Re: 1900 S tripled S, Die Breaks Date

Attached are better quality pics. I cannot see the hair-vee crack running into the hair. It is less pronounced than others.

Thanks for your time and interest.

Hope this helps.

Re: 1900 S tripled S, Die Breaks Date

I'd checked VAM 14 and did not see a match. Base of 1 sloped on V14. Top of 0's rounded. The wing-neck gap scratches (see pic) are not the same on this coin, and I don't see the cap scratch. Date closeup attached. I'd gone through the listed breaks and did not see any with cracks/breaks as pronounce...

Re: 1900 S tripled S, Die Breaks Date

I took the full coin pics with Iphone. Have to break out gear to get better quality pics. Can do that but it would take a bit; all that is put up. See if attached enlargement works for you. Appreciate the time. On the reverse, the die cracks are much less pronounced. Going clockwise: Small crack alo...

1900 S tripled S, Die Breaks Date

Bought this because of interesting large number of die cracks, and perhaps breaks. S appears to be strongly doubled and perhaps tripled. Multiple cracks and/or breaks at date and along left stars. I did not see any other cataloged VAMs with these attributes. C3 Reverse. Is this submittable?

1891 VAM 2a

Double check me please. Does this one as early die state 1891 VAM 2a? Not much of a moustache - I did acetone swab it lightly to make sure it was not stain or dirt. Any clash is worn or not visible.

Re: 1896-P V6 or V29?

Thanks
I guess my question really revolves around this coin having indications of misplaced date below 96 on front, and misplaced letters below AR on reverse, and if that constitutes a different VAM? Other than that, it fits some version of VAM 6.

Re: 1896-P V6 or V29?

Just noted new VAM 6B, which seems like choice once figure out overlap with MPD question. As I was putting same coin in flip, I noticed on reverse what appears to be denticle placement of letters :| Is there such a thing as misplaced letter? Look between A and R in pic below. Sorry to compound quest...
