Re: Guess the Grade, 1921 Peace PCGS Unattributed VAM 1H
I think a 55. I have a 1H at PCGS right now that I broke out of an ANACS holder at MS61. I'm expecting a 62...which means I'll be disappointed.

Re: 1923-P VAM Question
A big deal? That would depend on why your trying to identify the VAM. The 1AC2 is not on the top 100 VAM list or hot 50/Elite 30. However, I have VAMs also not on those lists but I think they're pretty special. If your trying to VAM for a profit, the coin date, MM, and grade are much more relevent t...

Re: Help with a 1883 Morgan please. I'm lost
Notice many of the listing make mention of a doubled date. I would start there. There is a doubling guide at the top of the forum. Also, the attribution guides help by looking at a certain areas of the coin. These guides can help you narow down your VAM quickly.

1AC2 has a lot of data in the listing. Start there and see if its a match.

Re: 1923-P VAM Question
VAMs can be sequenced when many anomalys or dies are involved but no, there are not multiple VAMs for one coin. The 23 Peace is a tough nut. Look for chips in her hair but the crack or break from her neck to the 1 in the date looks severe so its probably listed somewhere. I can't identify anything e...

Re: 1891-CC VAM-3 (or is it - HELP!)
I am struggling with this, I will try and get some better photos and changing the light around. I thought this was doubling (really close in on the date) but mind is likely playing tricks on me after staring at this thing for too many hours to count.. :D You're doing fine. IMO identifying the forms...

Re: 1891-CC VAM-3 (or is it - HELP!)
Seems like a 3. The clincher I think would be the line(s) above the arrowheads and near the left foot as viewed in the VAM 3 listing. GL

Re: Please consider for DISCOVERY
There are more die pairs in his study identified than are currently listed in the VAM catalog, so there are new die pairs out there that could be listed. I'm not sure that this is one of them. Thanks JB. Is that die pair study material available to me? If not, what would you do if in my shoes? VM 2...

Pretty sure its expected to lay it out here first. Can you match it up? If you're tired, go rest up. Please consider for DISCOVERY
Per new discovery guide, posting this here. 1897-S received today. The MM and date I consider within normal range. I'm fairly certain that's an unlisted eagle neck gouge and the wing-neck gap seems very unique with a heavy scratch up top. Remnents of a chip and clash on the left wreath. Lines around...

1882 - Dubious VAM 2 - Did I find it?
Tonight was what I call a go-back night. Relook at what I couldn't match previously. Nice new guides to help zero me in so I thought; this is gonna be successful. No match using the guides. I then opened each VAM and still no luck. I'm about to give up and I notice the dubious listings and lo and be...

Re: OT: Whoops!
In the past month I sent a coin back to them due to a mechanical error, better known as: they labeled it wrong. This past year, a coin they DETAILS graded went to another TPG and straight graded. Another TPG rep I caught handling my coins by the surface vs the edges. To say the least, I'm a bit down...

VAM 107. She added a little something to her hair. Quite the looker....and I tried for 30 minutes to make that slab standup. Never had that issue before.
