WTT: NGC MS66 1903-O VAM-12

Hello and thanks for looking! I’d like to trade my NGC MS66 1903-O that I’ve attributed as VAM-12, O/O Down. Willing to trade for any clashed 1903-O MS65-MS66; PCGS, NGC, or ANACS. I’m trying to build a New Orleans date set with only clashed varieties, so this one doesn’t fit in. No cash, just a str...

Is this a LDS 1899-O VAM-30?

Looking at this recent pickup, appears to be an 1899-O VAM-30, but a slightly later die state? There’s a neat die crack through the lower hair V that made me initially think it was a letter.

Thanks for looking!

Re: Here's today's puzzle

OK, here's the story. This is obviously struck by a cancelled die. In fact, this is one of the 2 oz tokens Ash had struck with the mated 84-CC pair he bought at the ANA. I did an 'About VAMs' column on the dies right after the show. I've had the dies in hand. The pic is from the ANA. After the toke...

Help with 1889-O VAM-11

I picked this 1889-O up recently, I believe it to be a VAM-11 but there’s not a lot of info on the page. I’ve included some full coin photos and the TrueView if it helps. I can also get some better closeups if needed.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Guess the 'clashing through the snow'?

If I’m guessing correctly, this would fit in with the clashed set in building from that mint. Also… WOW!

I'm amused by the black spot above E and S... it looks just like an apostrophe that makes it look like STATE'S. :)
Well I’ll never un-see that

That's a really nice 1N2. The reverse looks amazing to me.
It’s not terrible, just being nitpicky with the lower wreath leaves.

Thanks! I really enjoy this one! My only disappointment is the strike; otherwise it’s beautiful.

Picked this 1921-D VAM-1N2 from eBay recently

A friend pointed me to this coin, curious about the condition. I took a look and attributed it; he decided to pass so I picked it up and it arrived today!

This is a really fun 1921-D IMO, there’s a lot going on!

Rather pretty lady you have there. Beats my PCGS 63, but I'm happy to have my little lassie...

Technical grades aside, still a wonderful VAM! I had mine graded to sell it, but once I got it back, I couldn’t bring myself to list.

Re: PCGS TrueView photos of my 1904-O VAM-35B

Nice coin! Welcome, and glad you're having fun with this little corner of the hobby! I was definitely more of a hoarder and date/mint collector for decades. It took me a while to get here, but enjoy this aspect of the hobby more than I ever have before. I appreciate that VAM hunting really refines ...

I’ve always liked the 35B.
Thanks for sharing.
Nice coin.
Thanks! It was one of the first coins that set me down the VAM path and still a favorite.

1879-O VAM-36 double clash

New member here looking for some help on a possible sub variety for 1879-O VAM-36. I recently purchased this coin based on the clashing and condition. I don’t see much more info on the VAM page or in the forum. I’m curious if my mind/eye is playing tricks — I see what appears to be faint letter tran...
