Yes, it's VAM 3. I don't see any actual doubling in your pictures. There may be machine doubling, but you might also be seeing reflections on the coins taking on the appearance of doubling.

VAM 80 was discovered by Lawrence Lane. I'd agree they're probably the same. I'd want to see clear pictures of a coin showing markers that match both sets of Leroy's pictures.

"Die File Lines" is a weird term. Sometimes they refer to aggressive die polishing, typically to remove clashes.
