Re: Vams for Ikes...

No. "VAM" refers to "VanAllen-Mallis" varieties for Morgan and Peace dollars. The originators did not make any definitions for Eisenhower dollars. There is a group of active Ike dollar variety collectors, but their name escapes me at present. The Ike Group. They have their own variety catalog, but ...

The coin resides in a PCGS (Green) MS65 holder. It is also clearly a VAM23.
Thought so. This is an artifact of the holder. You might be able to polish it down a bit.

This wouldn't be an older PCGS holder by any chance, would it?

Re: Are there any known 1878-P vams 211-214?

Hehe, ask about the 14.x's, 24-29 and the 50's and 60's... 78 and 21 seem to have their own rules. Or using 101 and 102 instead of 100.1 and 100.2. They even sound the same when spoken. The 8TF 14.x have way to much collector and market inertia around them to ever be called something else. 78 was o...

That is uber cool.
It's a 21. You should be looking for the scribbles on it.

I've heard the dollar shrinks when trust is lost
Well, it is only a LAR, not a DOLLAR, and it's not even one of them, it's just ON one.

Re: Are there any known 1878-P vams 211-214?

No, but there should be. 210A and 210B should be 211 and 212, since they have nothing to do with 210.

Thank You Dennis Halladay for a good read on the 1884 P Dot VAMs.
Just maybe there is something in the Mint reports or letters that might explain that dot.
Correspondence would be the first place I'd look.

Maybe an altered 85-O. If it's a fake, it's a really good one, except for the 9, so I hope it's altered.

I don't like the looks of the 9. Compare with other 95-O. It looks a lot like the 9 on an 1879.

Yes. Still time. I'll post a notice when I get close to filling the submission.

S/N 20000 is coming very soon. I just blew past 19900, and there's a box on my desk I haven't done yet.

Re: 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars

I am wondering how many will be minted I thought it said 175,000 of each but a few others said there is no limit ? I’d like to get them for myself and two kids wondering if it would be as cheap to wait and buy them raw or graded 69 when the dust settles . I also want the two coin silver eagle rever...

EBay doesn't really know what the rules or laws are, and it applies them at whim. Whether the auction is allowed to run or not is anyone's guess.

Re: 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars

Can't say I'm not disappointed. There's no surcharge beneficiary for this issue and they said the markup over materials and production cost would be minimal, and the production cost sure isn't $55+ per coin. They also didn't fix the 0 and overall spacing in the date on the Peace dollar. I'll probabl...

VAM 2B as originally specified. I would call anything without the break above the M like yours and early die stage of it.
