The huge problem is, the 1921-D Die Crack Break Guide is horribly not up to date. Only 77 different VAMs are represented in it, out of the 228 that currently exist. I would like to try and help fix this somehow. Any ideas how I can contribute? I own 3 raw, circulated 1921-D that you folks have seen...

Yes, it's VAM 3. I don't see any actual doubling in your pictures. There may be machine doubling, but you might also be seeing reflections on the coins taking on the appearance of doubling.

Take a look at 1G.

VAM 80 was discovered by Lawrence Lane. I'd agree they're probably the same. I'd want to see clear pictures of a coin showing markers that match both sets of Leroy's pictures.

I'm assuming the poster meant it went to encapsulation and did not cross. Same thing happened to me once.

I've had a crossover go to encapsulation and did not grade.. How does that work ? They look raised to me which means they are incuse on the die, and could be spaced the same as denticles, i.e., denticle impressions. I might add they are repeatable on...
