Re: CAC stickered coins
I send a good number of coins to PCGS but I'm not trying to update grades. PCGS claims the reconsideration level service allow you to keep the original certification number even if you add the attribution and the coin doesn't upgrade. Will anything change on my label if I receive an upgrade? Other t...

Re: PCGS Frustration
I have a regular service grading order with attribution that was logged in on 2/16/2022 and finally shipped on 6/24/2022. It has been my experience that the TrueView images get published 20+ business days after the orders ship lately.

Re: Change at PCGS?
Are you referring to coins housed in the newest PCGS NFC chip slabs, or coins slabbed preceding the newest holders? They still NG all the questionable stuff I send them.

Re: Old holder madness at Heritage
Hi Andy,I collect GOLD CAC stickers.
I've sent about 200 Peace Dollars in PCGS holders to CAC over the last several years and only about 30% of them have received a green sticker. I've never received a gold sticker on any of them so I understand.

Re: Old holder madness at Heritage
It always amuses me to read the belittling comments regarding the collecting preferences of others with similar interests within the hobby. The value of the rarest most sought-after variety is based on the highest bidder’s desire to obtain it. Collectors generally pay little attention to intrinsic c...

My understanding from our discussion was that Dr. Close intended to kill 60 and augment the 2BW2 listing.

Re: CAC halts lowest tier service
I was curious when they asked everyone to use their physical address for express and registered mail a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't understand how that could be more secure or efficient but this latest message explains it.

Yes, I've seen a few different error messages. It makes me think there may be some cache/temp table issues. But I've usually only had to deal with these after a database update.

Re: Coin Sellers Beware
I believe it's only the tax reporting law that changed. Online marketplaces that manage payments are now required to report $600 or more in gross payments within a tax year. They will report to the IRS and taxpayer on form 1099-K. However we will only owe tax against profits less losses like always....

Re: PCGS 2021 pops keep going up
PCGS posted the grades for my submission today as well. It's what I expected as one of the so called Peace Dollars had a flaw in the obverse field which looked almost like a lamination issue on a real Peace Dollar, except the flaw crater was really smooth instead of textured. I took them out and gav...

That's one of my favorites on the Elite 30 list. Dr. Close comments on it at about 11:00 in this video.

Re: Meet your new Official Attributors
Mr. VanAllen has passed the torch to three of the most respected VAMmers in the VAM community. This is a great time to be a VAMmer. I agree. Leroy is transitioning it correctly, where it can grow with continuity. I am very encouraged by this announcement. I dived into VAM World just last year and t...

Re: $85 coin sold for $7,125
I assume these hammer prices are driven by slab collectors and PCGS 'Everyman' competitors. I've paid premiums to get original GSA packaging but I didn't take it quite that far. Imagine the hammer prices if PCGS started adding double plus grade suffixes and counting them at .75 instead of .5 points ...
