Slanted 1890
This coin has eluded me for a while now. It's not the other slanted dates VAM-17, 17A, or the far date VAM-7. I landed on VAM-14 because I ruled out all the other slanted dates. There is no trace of a bump in front of the nose. The field is as flat as it can be. VAM-14 was once 1J and on that page i...

1891-P VAM-13 or VAM-13A?
This 1891 has stumped me for awhile now. I had ID'ed it as a 13A but when I looked at it again a year later I realized the clashes don't match those of VAM-13A. The clashed n doesn't appear to be the same clash. It's a slanted date variety and its reverse is exactly like VAM-13 except it's clashed, ...

Who doesn't get bored with an 1884-O tho?
Alright, I guess it's time for y'all to break my heart. What makes this coin special to me is it's the only time I looked through a loupe and actually gasped at a coin... before shouting out many colorful metaphors. Well either I'm going to get my heart broken, or it's Christmas. There's no in-betwe...

Re: Do I have something here with this "Metal in 2" 1882-P?
Thanks guys I will use that search feature from now on, that was great. At first I was wondering how I could have missed it but it just isn't on the metal-on-date list. I should have seen it though...my bad. Hoping to land something that sticks at least enough to cause some debate. Thanks again

Do I have something here with this "Metal in 2" 1882-P?
Hello again VAMWorld I appear to have an "8 in denticles" VAM akin to VAM-20 but there is no doubled upper reverse that I can see. The photo of 20 shows doubling above the We but I'm seeing none on this coin. I'm also seeing some other artifacts in the denticles in addition to those between the 8s. ...

Re: 1902-O VAM-59?
Thank you guys for your time. messydesk and TheYokel, thanks for explaining die cracks and what they can and can't do. I must've read this once before and in the back of my mind I kinda knew, but it's good to get instruction like this so it really sets in. I think it's alright to let this thread clo...

1902-O VAM-59?
Hi everyone I have a 1902-O I just can't figure out. Near Date obverse and two olives reverse according to VAM-59. The two olives and shoulder gap confer with the C4/C3 reverse. In the C4/C3 Reverse Crack Finder (linked below) this coin has identical cracks to both of the photos at the bottom of pag...

Re: Intro and help on a 1921-P Morgan Dollar (and several others?)
Tekkie1, DHalladay and Kissov Thanks, thanks and thanks guys. That's why I make the coffee around here. This was my first experience with just how difficult these polishing lines can be to see. Even the first two looks through the loupe I'm saying "they're not there. Why are there no polishing lines...

Intro and help on a 1921-P Morgan Dollar (and several others?)
Hi Vamworld! I'm a newbie on the forums here and it's an honor for me to be here. Thanks for all your efforts and for making a great hobby even better! I've quietly been on the forums for some time without signing in or posting. I actually need help with more Morgans than just this one. I've postpon...
