Re: 1884-O VAM 4???

Thank you for the insight. I was kind of puzzled because it seems like I had seen others classified as VAM for only having die breaks and a similar clash in that same area. didnt know if this was still being researched and that would be a sub-category of a 4 or if I was missing something.

Re: NEW/NEWER MEMBERS

Thank you for the welcome, I am new here as well, and kind of stumbled into the VAM's very recently. I am also newer to really collecting Morgan's, though I have had a couple over the years, they were just really nice silver coins at the time. Now I appreciate the beauty and quality of so many out t...

Re: 1884-O VAM 4???

I received the coin yesterday afternoon and it does have all the VAM4 attributes, but it also has a few not listed on the VAM 4 or 4A. I will post the VAM 4 attributes and then another post with the additional ones. https://i.imgur.com/mIli6pD.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Mpd9dan.jpg https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: 1884-O VAM 4???

Thank you for the information. I was primary concerned with validating the VAM accuracy, the pricing I saw on PCGS website was a bit of aftershock once I decided to pick this one up. Couldn’t find much on previous sales aside from that that resource. Thank you again for looking 👍

1884-O VAM 4???

Hello all, I ran across another coin to fill a void in my collection. This was listed as a VAM 4 but was priced around a standard 1884-O MS 64 coin value. It has several key identifiers that I can make out: It has the rust spots on liberty in the images I had available to me, it has the over stamp o...

Take a Look at V-6
I believe after looking at that, it is in fact either V-6 or one of the stage varieties listed. Thank you for posting this information.

1896 P

Hello all, I just acquired this 1896 P raw from an online dealer. When I was reviewing the pics online I was thinking VAM 19. Now that I have it in hand, I'm not so sure and I cannot find anything that this one fits under. Most of the die issues appear to be on the reverse. Several die breaks that I...

Re: 1900 O/CC

I will post some better pictures of it today. It came in yesterday and I tried to really scrutinize it under light. Though I was confident I saw it in the original pictures, I am having a hard time seeing it in person.

Re: 1900 O/CC

Thank you all for the responses, lesson learned, compare all the major characteristics before you get too excited. It is still a nice coin, not sure it is MS65+ as the ICG label states, but a keeper for my set for sure. I will have to research the 21D and see if it fits. https://i.imgur.com/JGJfoN5....

Re: 1900 O/CC

Thank you for your observations. These pictures are not that great. I will add some additional ones when it does come in. I zoomed on these and could swear I see the back of a C to the right of the O, the lower part of C from bottom left of the O and inside the O the backside of the C under the left...

1900 O/CC

Hi all, I could really use some assistance with this one. I am waiting on it to arrive in the mail right now. I was pursuing through some auctions a few days ago and by chance, I ran across this coin. It was advertised as a 1900-O ICG graded MS65+ for $150. I was looking at the reverse and thought I...

1896-P VAM 19 Top 100

Hello all, I am new to the forum and fairly new to collecting Morgan's. I picked up my first couple a few years ago, and started my real collection with an 1878-P 7 TF AU 58. Since then, I have moved to collecting mostly MS64 coins and recently found VAMS. As soon as I can get posting pictures down,...
