The beginning of a peripheral rim CUD above the I of PLURIBUS and continuing CCW above the R is noted. A radial die crack emerging from a denticle and continuing adjacent to the left side of the I is noted. The crack continues radially onto the wheat ear.

Which VAM is the 1889 O subject coin imaged below? Closest appears to be VAM 8, but the mintmark of VAM 8 does not appear to be high enough or have a slight left tilt... This confusion is largely averted in the Large Cent regime as every die and die pair is given respect along with (O)die number, (R)die letter & (pair)Sheldon number. Obverse III2 3 - Date set much further right than normal.
Reverse C3e - IV S mint mark doubled with diagonal line in upper loop and curved line in lower loop.

Comments:

There may be multiple obverses with this reverse. The photo shown below is a far date, not very far.

I would be more than glad to put the VAM 35 attribution on the subject coin. However, there is no indication in the description or images of the VAM 35, that a High ‘O’ mintmark is present. If there were an indication of High ‘O’, wouldn’t the VAM 35 be listed with the VAM 10 and VAM 53 under the C4...

OK…lets for the moment ignore the doubled profile of the subject coin. Some may attribute the doubled profile to die erosion or machine doubling etc., and as such, ignore its presence. Using the images and descriptions from the requisite VAM web pages, it appears to me that the subject coin exhibits all the major PUPs of VAMs 10, 35 & 53(descriptions below from the web pages).
