Re: 1885 Vam 9a?

Please post a picture of the line left of the bow on your coin that is shown with the arrow labeled "bow line" on the VAM 9A page. Bow line pic. Shows a gouge line left of the bow I don't see a match for VAM 9A. Now use the same picture to compare the lines in the bow with those shown on the VAM 9B...

Re: 1885 Vam 9a?

I have a question ? Have you checked the VAM 9G .. It looks to have light clashing like your coin . I do not do good with pictures all the time .. I do more with Peace dollars , but fall off the fence at times . No polishing line by the cotton leaves or cracked reverse by dollar like Vam 9g shows

Please post a picture of the line left of the bow on your coin that is shown with the arrow labeled "bow line" on the VAM 9A page. Thank you for a kind and intelligent response. I will gladly try and get that picture for you. This is a lot easier than someone jumping up and saying you are wrong and...

Nice grab.
You suck!

Mitch,
Would you take another look at this coin? It is not a match to the information on the VAM-9A page.

The fact you had to ask speaks louder than words.

Re: 1885 Vam 9a?

I believe that it is a single clash version of the VAM-9B. I can not see any letter transfer in your photos. If the n & st transfer occurred on the second clash, then you have a VAM-9. If you do have letter transfer that I can not see, then it would be a VAM-9B. Sorry that it is not a VAM-9A. Or ma...

1885 Vam 9a?

Going over my 1885 P it seems as though it may be a Vam 9a. I was able to match all the markers from Vam worlds website and the 1885 Vam 9a. No dash under the 8 and no gouge by LS7

Re: Proof or not?

All the forums are all the same. People are very quick to say NOPE and then demand you provide more. It’s always the same when you prove people wrong. Seems as if all the feet are inserted into mouths. Because there are never anymore responses after you prove people wrong. Classic people. Makes me l...

Well the mark on the first L of dollar is apparent.

Heritage Auctions has a list attached to a coin that sold for over 100k. Attached is the link.

Was able to find every marker for the 1921-S Zerbe special strike. Did they reuse the dies as some business strikes would present the same marks?

1881-O Vam 27

Does this Vam bring a premium with a MS coin? Being that it is rated 1-3 R-7. I have one in great condition. Just wondering if I should send of to PCGS.

Gotta be worth an acetone or sudsy ammonia soak for a better look.

I was a hard no, but now I want to see more....
Would you mind sharing the sudsy ammonia soak? Never used ammonia. Frankly makes me nervous as hell thinking about it. Haha
