YES, nice work!
I am missing a couple pieces to that puzzle still but you got the just of it.
I have too many 23 & 1 E to count anymore.
One reason I say a lot:
Coins, coins, coins coins….. coins.
Remember I’m tracking dies, not varieties, per se

Re: 1882-P VAM-1H??
Actually a later state likely, not earlier. Striking and wear are deteriorating the chip.
I’m gonna leave it there for now.
This marriage is something else before and something else after the chip…
Stay on it Andy
Your epiphany will come.

Re: 1882 V34 DUPLICATE listing...VAM 12
It’s the same obverse and reverse marriage
Check the cheek chip and ear polish against the page.
At a minimum the 34 should read:
Same dies as 12 just older or worn off markers.

1882 V34 DUPLICATE listing...VAM 12

Re: 1882 1F (ish)?
The 22..sorry JB circling back. I call it die 1 and die 2. The newly listed so called VAM 22 die 2 is classification it is not a 22A die pair.
I’m not 100% this 1 F is either, but the 2 fill and RPD look right for 22a obv..
Thanks for the info Lee and yes if you find the pics please let me know

Re: 1882 1F (ish)?
I totally agree John It’s been a long question, not just from me, as to how you have a letter transfer VAM 1. This my take a bit of coordination, as there are now 2 newer discoveries F1 & 2. I can send this one and my F2, but I think you’ll want the (I think ) Lee DC and the M gouges DC, just my gue...

Re: 1882 1F (ish)?
I have it stickered EDS 1F, as JB suggests. Just wondered why 1F “vanished” from the list. I have 1F1 and F2 examples. My 1F1 is pictured on the page. The rev wing chip is on all 3 stages, so the marriage is not in question. I can find the submission and LVA response if you like. This is the stage L...

1F2 marker, no gouges @ the M.
Then there's the doubled/tripled legend and motto.

1882 1F (ish)?
Just curious where this would fall with the listings on the 82 page? Full disclosure, I finally found the John Austin stage that got delisted during the submission... This is an early stage, pre-clash. DJC_1882-1F marker.jpg Note RPD first 8, top of the lower ellipse and the light fill in the 882. J...

Re: 1882 VAM?
You're doing fine so far! Is there strong doubling like V8 states (or is it smutz/shadow I see)? ^poke it with a stick^ If it's there it would qualify as VAM 8, but as you showed, die markers do not match with those pics. So it qualifies as VAM 15, but it's not the 15A die pair, as you noted. Can yo...

Re: 1882 VAM?
I did not expect you to match the 15a
I been down this road…
It will end up (likely) as “multiple die pairs may exist”
I don’t subscribe to that ..,
Show us the 2 please tight shot, just the digit, best you can. Thanks for humoring me, this may get good…

Re: 1882 VAM?
Focus on the 2 The variety attributes itself…. Mine is not clashed, so that’s VERY interesting for me. Find a listed variety for the 2. As far as the 15 goes, let's get to that later. The yellow arrow photos I believe belong to alefzero Look at the 2 in that pic. Look at the 15A secondaries and see ...

Re: Proof vs biz reeding
I had a discussion in Baltimore a few years back. Daniel C was running his press. I remember someone saying they had purchased a press from gov surplus The press came with a box of parts, mostly destroyed collars. Based on that conversation, I have been of the impression they went through them like”...
