I have noticed that the listing description for VAM 80B (mid die state) states that it is more common than VAM 80A (late die state), yet the VAM 80B header denotes I-4 / R-6, and VAM 80A is denoted as I-2 /R-5. ?????????

Had this coin in hand at a Baltimore show when it was fresh from the Doyle Sale in NYC. I had been acquainted with the partners who bought it. They put a lot of time and research in to getting it designated SP.

This is the eighth or ninth example of this iconic VAM that I have handled. Not a gem, but not a budget buster.
