Re: I need help, with my 1878 78 rev Morgan
Holy sharkbait, Bert. What a lovely set of lines you got going on there. Way more impressive than what I pathetically questioned about the VAM-39A to 39B transition http://www.vamworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5092 ... Same bloke, same tools, different die but impressive art?! Curious... the cr...

Re: Silver Dollar 1904 O
"when is a doubled profile a doubled profile?" I've had similar questions concerning date placement - near, far or slanted? And mint mark position and tilt. My education is a work in progress. As for PUP photos to be added to the VAM listing pages, I think Ihnumis1 has provided a few, especially th...

Re: 1891-O VAM-22 - all it's cracked up to be?
Thanks. I hear you about worn coins with cracks looking more advanced. The latter one here shows a lot more than the others - crack in the upper reaches of the M, more across STATES OF and the left wing (not shown but I can provide pictures). No offense to the darksiders but I think if this were on ...

Meant to ask, too: any of those owners of the six VAM-22s in the SSDC registry, how cracked up are yours?

Re: Help on 1882-P Metal in 2
Nice mystery. I'd suggest looking very closely and carefully at the date digits - any doubling at all on any of them? Most of the 82-Ps have some form of doubling, many of them very subtle. Looking at the non-doubled listings don't show any that match yours... If you can post up-close pictures of th...

1891-O VAM-22 - all it's cracked up to be?
Have two rather ugly 91-Os that I believe are both VAM-22s. I can post other pictures but want to concentrate on the cracking pattern on the reverse. Question I'm looking help on: When does a crack become a break? The two coins are different stages, one earlier one later... are both simply cracked? ...

Re: An Open Letter To VAMworld
Posting this is not a service to anyone. Regardless of how 'justified' you feel propagaing this information is, it is not helpful. You (all) obviously think this important information - I can only speak for myself, but it clearly is not and I'd ask you to start acting a bit more rationally, a lot le...

Re: THROWN UNDER THE BUS HERE ON VW
I'm sure there are more he said, she said, rhetoric that none of us really want to hear. Momma would now ask: "Ok, now that the two of you have each flung mud, are you done?" [Nope, we won't ask if you each feel better because none of us likely care. We just want to focus on the enjoyable hunt and h...

Re: THROWN UNDER THE BUS HERE ON VW
Wow. I was raised to communicate and act as if everything would be seen and heard by everyone - and to judge it all under 'would this make your momma proud' flag. Disturbing on so many levels and a sad statement of how difficult it is for some people are to work through differences. Let's all learn ...

Curious, what do you mean 'as originally plated'?
Are these pictures from LVA from the coin Bill Fivaz submitted in 1974?
And has this been signed of by JB or JR? That'd rock if this has been found and clarified!

Looking forward to learning what this is.
The 82-P coins are full of doubled date digits which kinda makes it a fun series. All I know is your coin doesn't match my VAM-32 discovery coin.

Encouraging you to continue asking questions when you've hit an impasse (assuming you've done your own homework as LateDateMorganGuy questioned). If you've not tried this yet, you can always do a search on the primary page for, in this example, "profile" as many of the descriptions have mention of a...

Fantastic and showing how a keen eye - with verification - can advance the fun.

Boy looks like a 1G in some ways but the date doesn't match up? Don't think it this quite yet but some of the reverse cracks look similar - but not identical.
Definitely not a 1A.

Yes, congrats, and YES, pictures please.
To enjoy it through you is almost like enjoying it in hand. OK, that that's a lie - not even close, but you get my 'I'm trying to be more happy for you than I am insanely jealous' gist...

Re: Doing a little deeper dive into 1891 o - VAMs 14, 14a and 20
SSDC shows zero straight 14s registered... I'm honored to own the 14A DC and have a few other ones but these don't help the hunt for what appears to be a very elusive precursor.

Be interested to see if this is a straight 14 and not just a worn-down 14A.

Re: Scarce EDS of 78-S VAM 16 now VAM 16A
Interesting, the 1991 original 'big book' only mentioned the one with the massive scratch into the field with clear picture of it. I2/R4 supposedly - thankfully we're not using I and R ratings anymore... this is a good example of those maybe being true-ish at some time but neither the case now! Love...

Crikey, mate. What a coin! I'll need to look at my 50 to make sure it is a 50 - mine is beat up for sure, but still in hand!
