Not mentioned anywhere but it is logical to think the reverse was use first for VAM-73, the obverse was switched out forming the 1D1, the crack on the reverse happened forming the 1D2 and the reverse die put to pasture?

I'm a no as well. Even on well worn coins you can pick use PUPs to assist in analysis. In this case I don't see them. Perhaps this will change as we enter into the next phase of variety descriptions - more clearly defined along die pairing and not general descriptions. Love the reverse story that it was used multiple times in success...

Still looking into this and believe I am correct: shared obverse but different reverses. Still, the 35 is a clear "Doubled 1-80" in the description which rules out it having a shared obverse with the 1G. Is there a potential kill of the 1G in order?

Can anyone confirm/comment?
