Re: 1921P potential duplicate listings

Yes, all four appear to be duplicates. Thank you for pointing this out. My two contributions VAM 3DV2 and VAM 3AN2 appear to be duplicates.

Re: Is this a die break on a 21 Peace?

Your new photo shows a different angle which projects the possibility of lamination error. Extremely difficult to judge a coin from a photo. One dimensional viewpoints are misleading!

Re: New VAM-e Sent - Michael Fey Buys LVA Assets

Wow! I take this to mean we should no longer send coins to LVA...is this correct? Correct. Don't send him anything. If he still has coins headed his way, he'll process them, but treat this as you would the usual end-of-year break. The end of an era for sure. Makes me wonder, what LVA will have to s...

Re: having fun with LDS 1921-Ds

Nice pickup on LDS 1921 Denver mint Morgans. Your VAM 1B1 shows displaced field die break below LA (not a cud). Remember a retained cud must display break that is rim to rim. Your Vam 1R also shows displaced field die break above TAT. Last VAM pictured looks like 4A. Dennis, good to see your interes...

Re: 1964-P Kennedy DDO FS-102: Meaning of "FS"

There are 24 different 1964 Kennedy DDO varieties listed in"The Kennedy Half Dollar Book" by James Wiles who is CONECA's variety attributor. Other variety attributors such as Fivaz - Stanton and John Wexler list DDO varieties with their own respective numbering systems. Proper attribution is key bef...

Re: 1923-S VAM 1CE QUESTION

Die crack must show displaced field in order to be listed. Even so, die cracks are always useful as die markers. Die crack maps expedite VAM identification.

Re: 1921-D VAM-1AQ Without the Cud?

Designation of new VAM listings are attributed by Leroy (only). Sometimes an early die stage of a late die state is attributed as a "Revision". Recent example is 1921 P VAM 8B Revision which shows dot at wing -scribbles - die scratch G - displaced field break at lips - beveled denticles - WITHOUT Di...

Re: 1880-S 8/7 with reverse Lamination error or broken die?

A strike-thru error caused by debris between the planchet and die when the coin is struck. This debris always leaves a depressed area on the coin. Occasionally, the debris may be retained.
