Re: OT - New CHERRYPICKERS' GUIDE Publication
Eight years have passed since the last CHERRYPICKERS' Guide Sixth Edition Volume I on Half Cents through Jefferson Nickels was published and released in 2015. Hopefully, the CPG on Dollar Coins will be published in the near future.

Re: OT - New CHERRYPICKERS' GUIDE Publication
FYI - The 1906 D Barber Dime Overmintmark D Over O Discovery Piece was attributed and listed by John Wexler on his website in 2009. Furthermore, Bill Fivaz personally created overlays to disprove any would be doubters. The Discovery Piece is slabbed in an ANACS holder 4688930 with designation 1906 D...

Re: 1934 D VAM 3A
Dramatic doubling on the facial features, tiara rays. and inside the D make this Peace $ variety highly desirable. I have been picking raw VAM 3A for 24 years and still have not upgraded above an AU 58.
Very nice Peace $ Bert.

Re: OT - 2007 P GW$ Elongated Third Ray
Looks like you'll be waiting until Summer 2024 for it to show up in the CPG Volume III. The volume that comes out this year only goes through quarters. Popularity on the Elongated Third Ray 2007 P GW$ will increase dramatically when the new CPG is finally published and released. My youtube video ab...

Re: 1921-D VAM-1N2 to 1N3 transition point?
Thanks. The radial die crack under the date is quite interesting. I'd like to have a coin with a more complete filling of the cud on the reverse so the hunt continues! Displaced die breaks at date are found on several other 1921 D Morgan Dollars. VAM 1DL3 displays symmetrical die breaks at left and...

Re: 1921-D VAM-1N2 to 1N3 transition point?
1N3
Transition point from 1N2 to 1N3 is top of D showing flush with horn die break. The die break progression will show the top of the D merge with horn die break. Rim to rim retained cud above TED and die break at date are also noted.

Re: OT: Civil War Gold Found
Fantastic civil war coin hoard discovered while plowing a corn field in Kentucky. Eighteen 1863 Liberty Head Double Eagle Twenty Dollar gold coins were included in the count of over 700 coins. It is remarkable that most of this treasure consisted of gold coins with only a small percentage of silver ...

Impressive peripheral die cracks Tom ! There may still exist a die progression on this die pair with rim die breaks forming a retained cud. One can only hope.

Re: PSA (At the risk of upsetting some people)
A piece of advice from someone who is a professional numismatist, has worked at the highest levels of the coin industry for the industry’s biggest players, and has well over 100 VAM discoveries and revisions. I say this not to ruffle feathers or boast, but since that definitely is relevant to what ...

No
The rim and reeding is normal on this Peace Dollar. Peace dollars usually show a more pronounced shoulder and narrow reeding centered on the edge.

Re: 1923 s Unlisted Radial Die Break with photos
ANACS reported their grade and label on this specimen today 6-7-23 as 1923 s VAM 1AG WEAKLY STRUCK AU 55 I would disagree with the "WEAKLY STRUCK" description. In fact, weak strikes are caused by insufficient die approximation and abnormally low ram pressure. Reeding will be weak/absent from a weak...
