One of my favorites. I can imagine some poor mint worker trying desperately to remove the remnants of that debris clash...

Re: Help with grading 1878-S Morgan VAM19A

All three examples have frosty devices that tend to accentuate minor bag rub. A camera lens and lighting can make it appear even worse. The heavier the frost the more the frost breaks jump out....

Nice pair of 3B2's Bert! Now that you've typed 3A3 you'll need to find one if you don't already have one. Those poor man's tail bars are easy to spot as well....

Re: Just received this amazing 1881 O today

Hmm, with known examples only in PL and DMPL this reverse die must have been retired early for what ever reason or the bag(s) containing later strikes were melted in 1918....

Congrats again Bert on acquiring a fine example of one of the better collapsed die VAMs.

Off now to find one.... :D

1883-O cherry pick

I've been looking for one of these in the wild for quite some time now. It finally happened. She's a little rough on the edges, but hey...it is what it is...

Re: Neat "E" Clasher...

Nice pick Chris! I'm always on the lookout for an 1886-O E clasher in well circulated condition. Certainly not as common as the '91-O 1A..

Felix- nice pick on that 22A! I just cherried one a couple of weeks ago finally.... It may have been in the same yad!!!
