<SNIP> My personal view is also that it is absurd to reject "cleaned" coins. They have damage, but so do all coins. They should be graded with the cleaning just counted as damage the same as any other damage. <SNIP>
Figured the above was worth repeating.

Re: New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

Even before these new regulations, many eBay sellers still never shipped to Canada because it would involve filling out a simple form. In Africa there was (and continues) the "Segmentary Lineage System" where two adjoining groups of people would forget their problems and unite together against a gre...

Re: New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

I can still participate in some American eBay auctions, I can still receive some shipments of coins from America, the issue is not so much eBay or USPS or UPS or FedEx regulations, the issue instead is the American sellers who chose not to allow Canadians to participate in their eBay auctions, the i...

Re: New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

As I pointed out to mbarrcoins today, that over the years I had purchased many coins from him in eBay auctions and the result had been much higher prices from the sales of his coins, for he was willing to sell and ship to Canada. Now he is complying with a new eBay shipping policy which prevents me ...

Re: New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

No, you can set your preferences on eBay to allow sales to Canadians and then you can do your best to try to mail us the coin. Apparently If you try to send the coin with insurance and tracking, you will be prevented from mailing it, as from what I understand they do not want money in the mail. Befo...

How does it help your auctions when you prevent me and other Canadians from bidding?

Re: New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

You are the folks being mad at the wrong people. You obviously must be angry at the Canadians when you refuse to sell them your worn out silver coins. Most any American seller reading this post will continue to exclude Canadians from bidding, as they simply do not care.

Re: New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

You as Americans can ship to Canada if you do not participate in eBay's shipping program, all you have to do is set your preferences to allow sales to Canada.

Re: New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

It appears the majority of Americans coins sellers are complying, and are excluding Canadians from participating in commerce. Now you fling crap at me for pointing out the situation.

New Shipping Regulations Prevents Canadian Commerce

Many eBay coins ads now say that the seller does not ship to Canada. A great many USA sellers have this note visible in their coins ads. There has been a recent change with eBay Global shipping, now when I see the message that the seller doesn't ship to Canada, I am allowed to message the seller and...

Twenty-Six 1878s, ANACS Grades In

ANACS Grades two shipments. Very slowly progressing on a 1878s collection of Morgan dollars. First shipment did not fair so well, six coins received clear grades, eight coins did not. The email sent to me indicated just two DETAILS graded coins, actually there were eight DETAILS graded coins in the ...

Re: Selling 151 Vams

VAMS 59, 60, 62 and 72 not properly listed, searching for them as 1878s does not work as S (San Francisco) is not in the title. This will be the first sale I ever found, perhaps the first sale ever, that will include all of the 9 different San Francisco Long Nocks, and so this sale makes VAM history.

Re: 1878s VAM-109

I simply asked if there was anyone who could clue me in to the variety of VAM-109's and did not think it was necessary to post photos of my own coins to show off the differences, but I see now that was in error. My camera broke over a year ago and I ceased at that time to do any more work on coin ph...

Re: 1878s VAM-109

See the 1878s-VAM 109 photo of the eye spike above posted by Lewis, that spike doth not resemble the eye spike shown in the VAM 109 photos, in the slightest. I did not think it necessary to post photos when I started this thread, because of this great variation. Should I take the time to find exampl...

Re: 1878s VAM-109

And so the big fat eye spike shown on the VAM-109 page must be from a coin that is an early die state. This eye spike looks ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the eye spikes on later die state VAM-109 coins.
