Re: OT... How are you gonna handle the next 2 weeks?

I guess copper is just a suspected carcinogen and has some anti-microbial properties. Still, many people find copper to be toxic to them - many people are unable to wear silver earrings due to the silver being alloyed with copper and they end up with infected ears. Still, I most people would prefer ...

Re: OT... How are you gonna handle the next 2 weeks?

Here is a link that allows one to talk directly to the President of The United States of America. Members of Vamworld may use this portal to encourage President Trump to circulate gold and silver coins in place of nickel, chromium and copper coins. The gold and silver coins have anti-microbial prope...

Re: San Francisco Long Nock February Sale

Thrilled to get my new PCGS VAM-26 in VG10 in the mail the other day. Now I have a collection of eight of the VAM-26's in VG10 - three ANACS, three PCGS, a single NGC and a single PCI. It is nice to see consistency in the grades given out by the different grading companies.

Re: San Francisco Long Nock February Sale

Saved my money to buy this coin then failed to bid high enough, not sure what I was thinking in those last few seconds, amounts to a major loss to my 1878-S collection. I was prepared to spend much more than I bid, lesson learned. Only bought a couple of common VAM low grade San Francisco Long Nocks...

Re: O/T From Vams to Gold Pickin & Mining

Minelab makes a new detector that is optimized for gold nugget detecting, weighs just 3 pounds and is submersible, only costs $1200… it is The Minelab Equinox 800. The plan is to take one into the mountains this spring and then buy the remaining SFLN’s in the summer.

Nice Vam, how many of these are graded by ANACS, NGC and PCGS?

Why is the lower hair overpolished on an early die state?

Re: San Francisco Long Nock February Sale

It is just as difficult to find the Long Nocks in lower grades as in higher grades. It seems the only people wanting the lower grade San Francisco Long Nocks are wanting them in PCGS holders so they may complete their lower graded PCGS sets. The people building these lower grade PCGS sets want the c...

Re: I need help, with my 1878 S vam 17?

"Reverse die state 3 - Has been heavily polished with field showing through tail feathers and middle of wings plus shallow ED-STA that occurs with additional polishing of obverse die state 3" so it would be nice to see a photo of ED-STA, and because it is some variation of VAM-17 you might post a ph...

Re: San Francisco Long Nock February Sale

It is actually sad news that you would want to sell such coins as I think the San Francisco Long Nocks are keepers... sent you a PM.

Re: Looking for wisdom and insight on this 1927-D Peace dollar on how to best sub this coin.

I am eager to give away up to seven details San Francisco Long Nocks, the contest is only just beginning. The contest was based upon a fairly clueless collector who thought his or her coin would grade highly, we should wait for another clueless collector who thinks highly of another problem coin. To...

Re: Looking for wisdom and insight on this 1927-D Peace dollar on how to best sub this coin.

I have many details graded coins that have a numerical grade. I made it clear at the start of the contest that a numerical grade is required, and also a reason for the coin to be graded as a details coin should it be a details coin. I am not such a "looser" that I will freely give away San Francisco...

Looser: free or released from fastening or attachment: a loose end. free from anything that binds or restrains; unfettered: loose cats prowling around in alleyways at night. uncombined, as a chemical element.

Yep, correct, I am a looser.

Re: Looking for wisdom and insight on this 1927-D Peace dollar on how to best sub this coin.

So nobody guessed Details Environmental Damage without a grade number, nobody came close to winning. The winner was to guess the reason for the details grade should the coin come back as details. I still have up to several details SF Long Nocks to give away as prizes, I'd like some clear winners bef...

Re: San Francisco Long Nock February Sale

I am wondering if anybody is considering offering their Gene L. Henry San Francisco Long Nocks for sale. I have a collection of these and desire to keep his collection and legacy intact. It would be a wonderful birthday present if I could obtain another, this month.

Re: San Francisco Long Nock February Sale

VamHelsing; Just confused I guess. So you're NOT going to make the market??? Just what would happen to the market if I offered over 116 SFLN's on eBay at once? The prices of SFLN's would fall... by flooding the market I would make the market fall. There are generally about 10 properly graded SFLN's ...
