Nope. The only reason I have a goatee is because my wife says I look like a 14 year old without. I hate it but I want to make her happy! ;)

Re: Atlanta ANA Coin Show

I went Thursday. Had a few Vams on my radar, but my eyes were bothering me and I wasn't really able to do much in the way of cherry picking. I did get to meet Roger Bradshaw(Brian was away from the table at that time), and he gave me some good advice about the ones I am seeking. Only purchase was a...

Re: A little help with an 80-S please.

Doesn't quite look like what the 0 of v11 looks like. If it's not some kind of polishing or something else inside that 0, I've heard theres a theory that a majority (or maybe just many) of 80s obverses are actually 80/79 overdates that were either well polished so nothing shows from the first strik...

Re: A little help with an 80-S please.

Leaning toward Vam 11 but not seeing the thread-like impression on the Trueview and have not seen another 11 that looks quite like this. Any ideas?

A little help with an 80-S please.

Disclaimer....not my coin. I am assisting another collector with this one. He thinks it's an overdate. but it doesn't seem to fit the rules. Any help is appreciated!

Favorite VAM acquisition was probably this bad boy. Bought it from Andy Hansen at the ANA show.

Click the PDF on the 2nd post. Lots of great info. It was categorized as 5C at the time this was written.

Break in the "U" plus if there is clashing=37A2! If no clashing....37A1. Nice. :)

Assuming problem free, they look like they are both in the AU-53 / AU-55 range to me(based on the pictures).

Re: 1883CC GSA NGC MS-62 VAM-4B??

Cool thanks for the feedback I will keep an eye out for the 7A😏 I see many 4B in GSA holders. Great Vam, but not all that rare. The only GSA I have ever owned was an 84-CC Vam 7A. Liberty looked like she had been in a street fight! Her cheek was brutal. One of those ugly, heavily bag marked MS 62 t...

Re: 1884 CC GSA, VAM 2 Confirmation?

Thank you! My dilemma is that I haven't found any VAMs with the same die cracks that my 1884 has. I could have a new vam.... which would be amazing. Or I could have a vam 2 LDS. The grade would be hurt by the bag marks and I'm thinking she would only grade at best a 63. If I have a new vam of cours...
