Re: 1926 S VAM?
Most of what I see is machine doubling, although the designer's initial does appear to represent a minor doubled die. The most meaningful die marker is the pair of die scratches on V of TRVST, but I am not sure that the coin would be listable for that feature alone. I will look at my 1926S inventory...

Re: 1924 VAM?
I don't recall seeing this before. I would need to see the coin before listing it, but it looks good for a new listing from what I see.

Re: Striation lines, are these PMD?
While this one is most likely due to planchet filing as mentioned above, these exist in Peace dollars which are in the die. See 1922S VAM 1-S. Keep on looking, there are good coins out there!

Re: 1923S die break and strike thru
The raised squiggly area under DOLLAR is a clash mark, and a strong one. Clash marks are common on 1923S, and I have identified about 200 die marriages, of which about 140 are listed. I have a few more on which I am working, which will be added as I am able to thoroughly vet & catalogue them. Keep o...

1923S VAM 1AG
The 1923S VAM 1AG was listed for twin die clash (DCR) on eagle's shoulder. Every specimen I have seen also has a radial die crack on the left edge of C of PEACE. Has anyone seen this twin DCR without the die crack?

This is die #1. FYI, the EDS of this die is the LDS of VAM 1AZ.

Re: New 1923S VAM 1G2
As there are no clash marks on the VAM 1G, die polishing was apparently done to polish out the die crack, which is still evident on the coin.

Re: Question VAM 1B1 over VAM 1H
All stages of VAM 1B reverse have a horizontal die gouge from tip of leaf 5 (going from top left clockwise) into the field. This is a die gouge, not a clash mark.

New 1923S VAM 1G2
1923S VAM 1G2 – Obv II 1 – Polished T. Reverse B2a – S tilted right. Same reverse die as VAM 5 Discovery coin NGC 61 4815235-009 Die sequence – VAM 1G > VAM 1G2 > VAM 5. To date, I have seen only a couple of VAM 1G2’s, both with clashed die obv & reverse,. All VAM 5’s I have seen have a clashed die ...

Just wanted to bring this near the top, I will list this one assuming I can get adequate photos of displacement across the break.

Not likely that the grade is correct, but "on occasion even a blind squirrel finds an acorn". Hence, buy the coin & not the holder.

Re: Peace 1923 D VAM 1X2, There's More!
Keep on looking, there are still good coins out there!
I like 1923D as most of the listed VAMs are due to die breaks, making attribution fairly straightforward.

Re: Updated Peace clashing with letter transfer info?
Add to the list - 1924 VAM 8B E on reverse behind eagle's neck & shoulder, similar to VAMs 1D & 1BB. 1926S VAM 1AF with partial E on obverse (from ONE) left of and slightly above Liberty's forehead. I see a partial E in on 1923S VAM 3B (same position as 1926S VAM 1AF), but Leroy didn't agree. Photo ...

Nice LDS reverse. I will need to look at my 1923S coins & files to see if it is already listed.
