New listing - 1922 VAM 1AJ

This is followup of a thread posted by shortnock, here are more photos. There is very slight displacement across the die crack above IN, but not enough to warrant a separate listing. I would appreciate help in starting the page & transferring the photos. 1922 uVAM 1zAJ K8 b.jpg 1922 uVAM 1zAJ IB.jpg...

Re: "22 P, is she worthy?

After seeing the coin in hand (mine is a little later die state & slightly lower grade), I have decided to list this as VAM 1AJ - Polished pitted obverse die, die scratches at and below leaves. Credit for this one goes to shortnock, good job!
I will start another thread & post more photos there.

Re: Help with 1922-D VAM designation

I agree with those above calling this a VAM 2P1, albeit a later die state than the full coin photo on the corresponding VAMworld page. The die break on 2P2 is in the upper right corner of the rectangular die break left of date, of which I see no sign on this coin.
Hope this is helpful.

Re: 1923-S Letter Trans

The only clashed E transfers I have seen on Peace dollars are on the reverse behind eagle's head (1924 VAMs 1D, 1BB, and 8B), and on the obverse in the field left of Liberty's forehead (1926S VAM 1AF1). I would add 1923S VAM 3B, but Leroy didn't agree. There is enough die polishing in the area behin...

Re: "22 P, is she worthy?

This coin appears to be scarce, I have looked at over 100 of my 1922 B1's & found only one. If I can get adequate photos, I will likely list it.

Re: 1934 p v-1f - authen or not?

The coin for which the VAM was listed is real, I have seen this in all TPG holders. That is not to say that a counterfeiter could not use this coin as a model for counterfeit dies. Hope this is helpful.
BTW, this VAM is still available with enough looking.

I think I have seen this before, give me a few days to look at my files & coins. I first saw this a few days ago, & not forgotten about the coin.

Re: 1927-S Peace ?

In looking thru my letters from Leroy, VAM 1i was deleted (as EDS VAM 1B) in Oct 2020. I have posted another thread summarizing that letter, I had not realized that I had not done that earlier.

Oct 2020 VAM killer letter

First of all, I hope everyone will accept my apology for being so late in posting this. Between COVID & work, it has been hectic. Here is a summary of my last coin package to Leroy October 5, 2020. I will need help in correcting the listing pages; and if someone would update the Registry I would app...

Re: "22 P, is she worthy?

I don't see any displacement across the die cracks.
The file lines might justify the coin being listed, especially as it has a B1 reverse. I believe that I have this coin, I want to see it in hand before doing anything with it.

There is a later die state, VAM 1T3, but it has the same obverse & reverse dies.

Re: 1924-P VAM-1H1

VAMs 1A & 1H are different dies. I have not seen anything in VAM 1H series to justify splitting it into subvarieties, so can we change this back to simply VAM 1H & not VAM 1H1?

Re: 1926 S Peace Dollar

After seeing your post, I checked my inventory. I found a coin from the same die pair, although a somewhat earlier die state, which I had labeled as "VAM 3" to fill the hole. I did not find these die markers on any other of my coins, and I have a nearly complete 1926S VAM set. BTW, I have idendified...

Re: 1924P 1AH2

VAM 1AH2 was listed for die break on the cheek, not the radial die breaks on the reverse. I don't clearly see the break on the cheek.
In any case, you have a nice (and scarce) coin. It has been several years since I have seen a VAM 1AH2, hopefully the die break is there on your coin.
