Got ANACS Grades Posted

Sent in mainly for the Dan Carr ones to complete the set (still have one I need to send in). Added a bunch of raw ones which I knew were mainly AU and some cleaned. A number of them were not in the Registry, being the reason to send them off so I didn't accidentally sell them on eBay. The 1811 half ...

Re: David Wang's 1879-S book

Got a bunch of PMs, texts, and emails. I think what I will do is set up a digital bid board and advertise it on the BSTA for the books, VAMs, etc. If it works can open it up for others to use.

Re: David Wang's 1879-S book

I have it and was going to sell off most of my books.

Yeah, it is here. Bought it from David Wang and never opened it actually.

Wonder if the planchet fell into the minter's soup or something. I am guessing it came with the planchet and was not on the dies.

Re: 1795 Draped Bust Silver Dollar????

It is the off-center BB-51 and looks completely genuine to me. It is not clashed. The cloud design just has that look and the overall production quality at the Mint in 1795 was not exactly top notch. And it is VERY plentiful. Highly promoted forever because it is a single-use obverse design die, but...

While not particularly scarce, for whatever reason, that VAM has represented many of the most wonderful toners of the date. Maybe there was a bag of them in the Continental Bank?

Re: PCGS re-holder special.. blah

It runs through the end of the year. I am only doing early dollars and can wait until the surge subsides a bit. That way, too, I don't have as many of the inevitable ones to add right after I send in a submission.

I wonder if this is what is holding up my previous grading order (regular service from early September). It has been in the imaging queue for what seems like forever. I guess there are a lot of these specials in there too.

So it appears a bit unlikely that those reverses produced any CC dollars before being reappropriated in New Orleans. Not entirely impossible, but probably not.

Re: PCGS re-holder special.. blah

I should look into this. I have gotten eBay returns on the most insignificant common corner rail chips on the holders and just paying the shipping both ways kills me. Not sure if this will save any on the end though. Looked. I think the gold shield is being set to free (which is already free to me a...

BTW, that serial number is from at least 25 years ago
There were 29 of them attributed in the past as such, 9 in this grade. Teletrade sold one in May 1994 for $80. Could be that one or one of its 8 cousins.
