Re: Award for most Posts in a year

i know who might be considered for most annoying posts in a year. years ago, i went through extreme sleep deprivation and chronic insomnia. i irritated some with my incessant posts of cherrypicks(while others loved them), that is why I no longer post my finds. i still find incredible coins, still ha...

1879s v51 ngc63

At the PAN show, just saw a 1879s “v51” misattributed by NGC again. Not even close. How bad can they get? I can see the big die scratch below the one plain as can be. I thought something look off as i looked through the case. Not Guaranteed Correct again…

Re: 79-S B2a Study

And that v56 obverse had to have been used before. I just can’t find one. I did pick another v56 in fine at csns, along with a gorgeous 79s vam 16a. I think i tried to link it to the v34b/57,77,77a,83(and another that leroy wouldn’t list because it was too low of a grade).

I have seen quite a few vam 8 with no pitting. I thought they were relatively common.

Yeah, that looks like a hit to the edge, which pushed up metal. Needs another look in hand.

Re: Updated Peace clashing with letter transfer info?

Pretty sure i found another e clash on a peace dollar. Position relative to the neck and jaw clash looks correct. I think i put it in my bulk order last month.

Re: 1882S Obverse of V3 Reverse of V8

i have seen this doubled 1 on a number of different 1882 vams. i really love this acid treated reverse. it is one of the most eye catching and startling examples.

Re: 79-S B2a Study

i found the vam 149at a recent show and identifying it was giving me fits. at first i thought it could be an eds vam 4, but that didn't work, then 23 was out, and i know it couldn't be 56, 66, or 25. it was found on the 3rd day of a show.

Re: 1921 B over S in "PLURIBUS"

I don’t know how “underestimate” ended up in my paragraph. Understand maybe, but not underestimate. What state are you in? I could examine your t at a show or f you are afraid to have an t examined by john roberts or john baumgart. I do shows all over the country. 3-6 shows a month.

Re: 1921 B over S in "PLURIBUS"

While your theory is “possible”, i see nothing to prove your point. An S over a B should leave other evidence, such as other letters, or design elements. I do have a bolivian doubled die where an obverse die was hubbed into an unfinished reverse die. There reverse die was ground down to remove “repu...

Re: A couple of FUN show purchases

Some neat stuff, especially the lion dollar that nice. I like the beitish midwifery and nursing too. Much in the spirit of the 1797 1 pence and tuppence cartwheels. Incused outer lettering. I picked a few things-1878 v9 a55 ish, 1878s v114 xf cleaned, 1922v6 pcgs63, and an 1879s st clash that does n...
