You're totally fine. It was time for the VAM to be identified. 8-)

Re: Just picked on Heritage

What vam is it? Hey Bert, yes it's a VAM-115. Left the VAM out to make the post more interesting. :D The main markers would be the doubled Liberty and line in the top of T in Liberty. Also the leaves and cap doubling and tripling. On the reverse the hub defect above the arrow feathers. 8-) Thanks f...

VAM-80. Per the VAM-80 page:

Most coins attributed as VAM 80 are now VAM 80B. A true VAM 80 has very few reverse cracks and no polishing lines, and is scarce.

*The pictures haven't been updated on the VAM-80 page.

Just picked on Heritage

Just won this coin on HA tonight. First time I've picked one in MS. Had to pay up big time for my PCGS MS62. Looks like others missed this one. Only 8 in graded MS at PCGS, with 4 graded higher. Only 5 MS at NGC and just 3 higher. 8-)

Re: 1921-s vam 1B3A PCGS 63 Thorn Head

Ya I understand that I was just trying to help Marky b know the why of this one Oh, I've known the why since I was told of a value guide. A value guide behind a pay wall. That's fine but what happens when those same people kill VAM 1B3A or any other VAM? What's its value now? Now you're thinking......

Re: 1921-s vam 1B3A PCGS 63 Thorn Head

It must not be attributed correctly on the holder, or PCGS verification is misleading  Screenshot 2023-03-16 102337.jpg NOAH in the OPs post means not attributed on holder. The guide price shown by PCCGS is only for a regular 1921-s in MS63. Only 3 in BU in 15+ years means this is a very r...

Fantastic upgrade and new top pop

Was lucky to win this amazing coin and upgrade to my XF45 set coin. Solo top pop in the SSDC registry.

Re: I'M A BUYER LOOKING FOR UPTICK IN METALS MKTS

Triple top on the gold chart is not your friend. Gold will probably retreat to low 1700 levels IMO..

I'm personally buying stocks since most are way more oversold than gold/silver.

Don't believe this will have any impact on VAMs though.

Re: I'M A BUYER LOOKING FOR UPTICK IN METALS MKTS

I'm not sure I understand the problem. A discussion about metal prices, past present and future, is a logical extension of our collective interests. After all, I did not see any objections to other topics that were not VAM related. Threads have been posted concerning the structure of the mints, the...

Re: What's the difference between 1878 8tf V22B & C?

I have 4 VAM-22s. Posting 3 below with all different die states. The 1st and 2nd I have as 22A, and the 3rd 22B. The 2nd coin does not have the chip on the obverse, possibly the beginnings of a reverse chip. The 22B has the chips on obverse and reverse. One thing I will mention that stands out is th...

Re: What's the difference between 1878 8tf V22B & C?

Mark- What I was trying to convey is that the written description of both the 22 B&C have a die "chip" on the second star. The coin I have does not have the chip, but has the crack forming. It does have radial cracks on both front and back. Attached are the photos. I am only looking for clarificati...

Re: What's the difference between 1878 8tf V22B & C?

Since the descriptions seem to hinge on the die chips and breaks, what would an 8TF 22_ be considered if the chip on Star 2 has not formed but has the (2) cracks that caused the chip and has crack stages of the rest of the stars/wing tips? Do you have a coin with the breaks on the reverse but not o...

Can the VAM-22C be killed now? Still have never seen a difference between the B or C and this thread does not clear things up.
