Re: Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Just something to keep in mind. While you are standing on principle for this transaction, this won't change anything on Ebay. Although you will get some sort of personal satisfaction I guess. Ebay exists (as every company does) to make money. They make money on volume sellers. Ebay will NOT stand on...

Re: Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Guess a lot of folks missed what I said.
I do not excuse the so-called scammer. But you knew something was wrong going in. Do what you want. I just offered an opinion.
What's the saying, "Buyer Beware".

I guess taking personal responsibility is a lost concept.

Re: Keep or return 1889-O V-13B
Everyone has their approach. Whoever this seller is, there are others that do the same thing. Most folks (at least on this site) can tell when photos have been doctored. Apparently you recognized it. I usually ferret out my coin purchase decisions before going after a coin, knowing the photos have b...

Whatever it is, it won't change a V67 into something else, IMHO.

Re: Coin Divesting
I would say HA was less expensive since I only paid a flat 5% sellers commission. GC's seller's charges are more complicated starting at a $5 listing fee per coin, then a % of hammer price on sale (graduated from 5% then down depending on hammer price). If you have good stuff, problem free, I would ...

Re: VAM PowerPoint presentations? Please share...
I don't have anything to share but an opinion. I would stay away from minting processes and anything technical. I would show a few of the Top 100 Morgans that anyone can see with the naked eye and are actually worth some money. Let's say Hot Lips, Shifted Eagle, Scar Face, etc. I don't know how soph...

Yeah, my example of the V67 has the same "feature" on the top arrow head. Not sure about the other two "features" you mention. My coin is more worn than yours.

Just curious why folks continue to be loyal to a company that is obviously in a tail spin?

Looks like a direct hit from another coin, not a counter stamp to me.

Re: Coin Divesting
Wayne, I am a HA Legacy Client. I have sold stuff on HA before. I knew the drill. I sent them an Excel spreadsheet with what I wanted to divest. That being said, the sellers commissions were as follows: GC: $5 per coin listing fee, and 5% sellers commission per coin. HA: Flat 5% sellers commission, ...

By the way, I should add that GC does not accept or honor VSS attributions or stickers. HA does.

Thought I would share. I will try to refrain from commentary and leave it up to you to make of it what you want. As some of you know, I started to divest most of my collection in January. I went three avenues as follows: 1. Offered and sold coins here on VW via the BSTA page. Satisfied. 2. Had a loc...

Very cool get-together! I like the old school T-Square on the wall in the background used for manual drafting. A testament to his early engineering days as a mechanical engineer. Good training for the minting process.

That is completely up to you of course. Nothing wrong with an EF40 in this series.
