Re: 1880 trade-now sale

A trade probably won't happen so I am selling the 1880 MS 65 checkmark in PCGS holder with aoh bright white, no toning. Selling for $500 ( Greysheet $574)) plus $10 shipping priority mail plus insured. PCGS # is 34504937. Label attribution reads Hot 50 VAM 11 Checkmark. It appears that it is a VAM 1...

1880 trade

I finally decided to get to bucket list items. I chose first a PCGS Morgan's w/Major varieties 117 pc. set. As of now am awaiting 3 notifications from PCGS coins I want to enter that I have but can't do so because previous owners didn't delete them from their sets. Biggest problem is that the 1880 8...

Re: Vam designation "JOH-23" 1921-D

JOH numbers were assigned by Rob Joyce and late Jim Hart thus JOH via 1st letters in last names. They were 21-d's not up to new VAM #'s but able to be recognized for researching purposes as I understand. Fun With 21 book gives a list of their research #'s as of that point in time.

Re: crazy-fast mail story

Just an update. It's been 9 days and still no coin. It's been sitting in the Lehigh Valley distribution facility since April 21st. Emails to USPS ignored and talk to local PO no help. Covid excuses are running thin. Just send me my coin. I live only 70 miles from there!

Re: crazy-fast mail story

I'm just the opposite. Bought a coin from a place in Maine. It took 35 hours to get from Maine to Allentown distribution center(about 7 hours straight drive) or about 400 miles. By the time I get it in Saturday afternoon's mail (hopefully) it will be 84 hours to go 70 miles to my house or about an h...

O/T-1956 Canadian $

After many years of searching for a 1956-SWL (short water line) dollar for my Canada $ with varieties set, I cherry picked one from E-Bay in PL unc. The trouble is ,I can't find much about it other than very elusive, rare, hard to find. Even coinsandcanada.com lists it but doesn't give a value. My q...

Re: Just in time for Xmas!

I paid off my mortgage 12 years ago, retired 9 years ago after I was totally debt free and had money in the bank with my SS & pension coming in. I now use my "line of credit" to buy any thing expensive and pay it back at my pace way under what a credit card company charges. One of the only few perks...

Re: Just a tarnished 21...

About 40 years ago I showed this old time dealer my toned coin. He told me that toning is another name for "high class tarnish". Give me bright white any day.
