Re: D1 1921-P cracks mystery
I haven’t had much time form VAMs in the last couple of months.
But the ONE crack makes me think of my 66A DC that I think is now an 86A?

Re: 1889 o VAM 1A2 Morgan
Happy to help.
Your AU 1A1 is a nice pick.
I hope you find a AU 1A2 to go with it.

Re: 1889 o VAM 1A2 Morgan
Mike, I recently made a move and I do not have my camera set up yet. So I will try my best to demonstrate the difference between a 1A1 and a 1A2 with the photos I have available. The first one is a crop from the 1A2 page. The red arrow points to the first clash that produced the 1A1. As you stated "...

I will see if I already have some photos of my 1A2s that show the difference. My 25 is available to ta...

Re: 1889 o VAM 1A2 Morgan
The clash lines that you point out is exactly why Brian and I think it’s a 1A1. 1. The clash at the exact center of the neck line. A 1A2 should be to the left of that. 2. The wing clash extends from wing to left middle of G in God. A 1A2 should be to the right of what your photos show. I have not se...

Could you show a close up of the reverse clash from the wing to the G in God?

Okay
Now I have to pull mine and see where they fall.
Ditto, Rob, what do you want to do?

I was thinking the same thing Brian. That’s why I Refered to it as an 89-O. But then I figured that I’m missing something because it was attributed by JB.

Thanks Mitch. I know it’s not easy to share news like this.
And it’s not easy to hear.
I certainly don’t have the right words.

Re: Revisiting the "WHATS A 1881 O VAM 33B WORTH?" question (but as a die progression question)
I'm not the best with computers (read as I'm not very good  ), but I will try and demonstrate that the mm location of the 33B is different than than the 50A. Because I am using the reverse LFCPs on the VW pages and enlarging them, my lines get a little off. But I think you will clearly see that...

I don’t think they (33B & 50A) are the same die pair.
The mint marks look like they are in slightly different locations.

Re: 1887 Morgan die clash?
Sorry, but the “polishing” isn’t hiding an E clash.
Your coin can’t be a 1B because of the date location. If you look closely at your coin’s date location it is right at 2.5 denticles from the bust point. The 1B is much farther left. Also, notice the 1 on the 1B is much closer to the rim than yours.

Re: 1888 S VAM 3A1 value
It’s a hard VAM to find. Very nice clash in hand. Not really documented that well in the page, but I think it’s a really cool clash. Good luck finding a good example. I also think it is under appreciated. Maybe because it isn’t shown on the page that well. A friend took some photos for me. If I can ...
