Re: New Vam Help
If you post LVA’s discovery letter here, it would be a good idea to cover your address.

Re: 1901-O vam 40a rarity
Not many people care about that clashed G.
They are not rare. Anyone that really wants one can find one in high grade with a little patience by watching online auctions. It shouldn’t bring much of any premium.

UNCLE BINGO wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 1:58 amSo an honest question from me, is there more "stoppers" than just the 1921-D VAM 1X2 involved in the Morgan major cuds?
1921-D VAM-1H4
1892-CC VAM-2A
Only one of these so far.

Or maybe, my CUD is a CC and yours isn’t.

Congratulation on your 203A. That is only the second 64 that I have ever seen.
I was out bid on the first 64 years ago on Great Collections.
So I was happy when I got my 62.

Re: 8TF
@SilverToken
Now I get it.
Maybe it isn’t on that page because the tail feather attribution for the 14A is the same as 14.
It wouldn’t help putting the 14A page link up because the 14A page doesn’t show the 14/14A tail feathers. The 14A page only shows the obverse clash photo and LFCPs.

Re: Sleeper Set
A good chunk of these made the JR list along the way. Others are solid candidates for future inclusion. Think I have this coming year's set picked out, but it's not firm yet. I've been thinking we could do a registry set from the stuff on my annual list that wasn't already on another list. It would...

Re: Merely a question
I would think it is situational as well… If the listing was specifically for obverse features and both pairs show no real listable features on different reverses, then die pair 1&2 “should” be adequate? Because the obverse is the listing. Does that sound fair @messydesk ? Doug, That is pretty much ...

Re: 1878s VAM-72
It appears that GreatCollections will keep the coin up for sale, and so perhaps this thread should get moved to the For Sale section. If you wanted it pulled from the auction, why don’t they pull it? They can do that at any time. This won’t be the first time they have pulled a coin from an auction....

Re: 1878s VAM-72
PCGS customer service ( or should I say No-service) reminds me of an old Saturday Night Live fake commercial by Lily Tomlin. In it, she was a spokesperson for the phone company. Their moto was “We’re the Phone company, We Don’t Care, We Don’t Have to”. Pull it up on the computer and watch it. It’s p...

@MarkyB
Love your photos.
They will end up helping you in the end.
Hopefully the VAM will be confirmed by the experts.
Adding you pick up photos to the correct page will end up helping lots of others going forward.
Nice job.

Re: 1891 O VAM 15b (I think)
Thank you for the close up. I was hoping to see a better view.
I do see you have a crack back to the rim.
What I don’t see is a displaced field between the N & I. So I still think this is a 15A.
Hopefully we will hear from a few others.
