Re: Clashed 1895-O
JR thanks for getting back to me on this. It is the first clashed 1895-O I have run across and it really spiked my curiosity. I never thought to check the full photo of the VAM 1.

Re: Clashed 1895-O
Help! JR and JB you have probably seen hundreds more of this date than I have. Have either of you seen a clashed 1895-O or have any ideas of what die pair it might be?

Clashed 1895-O
Is anyone familiar with a clashed 1895-O? If so what VAM number would it be? The coin I saw did not have a readily noticeable letter transfer. It appeared to have a slanted date and a mint mark tilted right. The closest match I could come up with was a VAM 6 before the polishing event, however I cou...

Sad news for sure. I did not know him personally but had recently purchased a couple of coins from him. The coins and transactions were seamless. Prayers for his family and those close to him.

Re: Horned O Die Break Progression
I have a couple 1921-D VAM 1BQ's. I will have to locate them and see how late the die states are. Seems to me at least one of them is a legit "Horned O".

Re: Does Morgan 1921-S VAM-4A = VAM-1AM
The 1921 S VAM 4A Discovery Coin does not have a radial die crack from denticles down thru the right T in STATES, thru o in God down to eagle's beak. I wonder if the 1AM Discovery Coin has the VAM 4 and 4A dot under the eagles left wing?

Your latest closeup of that area appears to be just some discoloration or maybe a stain.

Re: 1878S VAM-45.....????
Has anyone else noticed this coin appears to be struck through wood shavings? Take a look from the bottom of the eagles right wing down through the right talon and into the arrow feathers.

Re: whats a 1881 o VAM 33B worth?
A tough coin. I'm not sure very many have changed hands to get any kind of idea what the value might be. ANACS has only graded four of them, two 53's and two 55's. PCGS and NGC do not make a VAM designation for WOW List coins on their holders or population reports.

Thanks guys for helping me solve one of my long time mystery coins. Andy's coin pictured as the current VAM 7A is a match. Wayne, taking a closer look at your VAM 7A photo's convinced me.

Re: 1889 VAM 7B/VAM 60
Can you check the reverse for a very faint clash N in IN? You may have to tilt the eagle head down and try it in real good lighting. No Clash N on the obverse? [/quote] Okay, when I tip the eagles head down I do see a line from the eagles wing to the right inner serif of the n. No clashed n on the o...

Re: 1889 VAM 7B/VAM 60
Check and see if you have the die marker with the polishing lines in the lower cap and the dot on the lower right serif of the R in LIBERTY. The clash N fades away with die wear. In addition, check the reverse die for a very faint clash to the N of IN and for die cracks in AMERICA and STATES. There...
