Re: 1922 D Vam 1K Late Die State?? New number?
VAM 2AF it is. It has the break under the G in God and the cracks match. Thank you very much! I should have looked more carefully at the reverse and then would have known it couldn't be a 1K. Just haven't identified one for awhile but I have a new pile to get to work on so on with the hunt Again, Th...

Re: 1922 D Vam 1K Late Die State?? New number?
Not 2Y Obverse die crack too close to 1 and doesn't continue up and around the coin. It termininates into the rim. Also, die crack by T of trust goes through the T on mine not over the top of it. And no crud. Not 2AE Die crack through Y too high and die crack over 1 goes higher before hitting the ri...

1922 D Vam 1K Late Die State?? New number?
I identified this 1922D as a 1K by the cud on the reverse. The obverse has other cracks so is it just a Vam 1K LDS or should it have its own vam number?

Re: Stolen coins
Quite some time ago I posted about a movie I once watched. In it a diamond dealer who traveled the country and carried quite a bit of diamonds made a false floor compartment in his trunk in which he placed the real diamonds. Then on top on the flat floor he placed an identicle case with fakes. He go...

In it's condition it is not worth $99 dollars. Send it back and if everyone who buys from him sends them back maybe it will stop the fraud.

If you want market value use ebay and search for the VAM. Check both the asking (up for sale) and the sold ones. It should give you a good idea of what they are worth. In the search list, mark the sold box in the left column to see the sold ones. Bottom line is that a coin is worth what someone will...

Re: A new look at ‘21-D JOH-3
I often wonder about the JOH-21 & 22. The JOH-22 has more going on than the JOH-21 but both should have a VAM number since all Morgans are VAMs - correct? The JOH coins should be cleared up even if they are only VAM 1. With scribbles, it wouldn't be called VAM 1. Don't use the photos on the VAM 1 p...

I often wonder about the JOH-21 & 22. The JOH-22 has more going on than the JOH-21 but both should have a VAM number since all Morgans are VAMs - correct? I'm going to take some pictures of the 21 & 22 and see if we can identify anything significant to give it a VAM number other than a VAM 1. I noti...

Re: O/T Taxman
The seller doesn't influence anything ebay does regarding taxes. I live in Oregon with no sales tax but when I sell coins the buyer often gets charged sales tax from his state not mine. If your state doesn't charge for coins you need to address it when you see it on the invoice from ebay. Call them ...

Re: USPS question
Remember that, in my experience, the USPS has a habit of refusing the claim at first. Don't give up! Go right back at them and insist they honor their insurance, after all you paid for it. It can be a pain in the butt but they need to be held accountable. When they lose money, they tighten up their ...

Re: O/T USPS GOOF UP THE HONEY STORY
Insurance on coins is no guarantee you will get your money back. They will make it nearly impossible to get your money back. Don't give up as their standard first reply is to deny the claim. I once sold a large beer sign and it didn't even get delivered to the buyer since they crushed it in shippin...

Re: Watch your backs at coin shows!
I repeat and it would have worked if you could have switched fake for real. Hide the real and leave the fake out. If using a car you can fix it so you slide the real under the back seat from the trunk area while the fake sits in the trunk area. Considering the amount of loss it seems well worth the ...
